Lady Lovett's Little Dilemma

Lady Lovett's Little Dilemma

Beverley Oakley

History / Romance

Lady Lovett's Little DilemmaIf you enjoyed Anything He Wants by Sara Fawkes, or On His Orders by C.T. Sloan, then this book might just be for you! Make this one of your top romance novels of the year! The eight—year marriage of the once mutually-adoring couple, Lord and Lady Lovett, is rejuvenated through the anonymous counsel of Lord Lovett’s former mistress.Eight years of marriage has not dimmed Cressida, Lady Lovett’s, love for her husband, but the birth of five children has cooled her ardour. Now rumours are circulating that the kind, dashing and seemingly ever—patient Justin, Lord Lovett, has returned to the arms of his former mistress and Cressida believes her choices are stark—welcome her husband back to the marital bed and risk a sixth pregnancy she fears will kill her, or lose him forever. With the astonishing discovery that methods exist to enable the innocent Cressida to transform herself into the vixen of her husband’s dreams without expanding her nursery, she seeks to repay the woman responsible for her empowerment...only to discover her unlikely benefactress was, and perhaps still is, her husband’s mistress.Book ReviewsThis is a wonderful novella about a couple whose passion for each other hasn't dimmed...A very spicy, yet very sweet, true love story.Reviewed by MelissaAbout the Author:Beverley Oakley (aka Beverley Eikli) wrote her first romance novel when she was seventeen. However, drowning the heroine on the last page (p550!) was, she discovered, not in the spirit of the genre so her romance-writing career ground to a halt and she became a journalist.Throwing in her secure job on a metropolitan daily four years later, she travelled to Botswana to manage a luxury safari lodge in the Okavango Delta. There she met a handsome Norwegian bush pilot.Beverley resumed her romance writing career in a thatched cottage in the middle of a mopane forest with the aforementioned handsome Norwegian bush pilot (who is still just as handsome) and once again called Africa home.ReviewJoyfully Reviewed -Review by Vanessa*Cressida, Lady Lovett, still desires her husband, Justin, Lord Lovett, very much. However, she is frightened of the consequences that a night of pleasure may bring. She doesn't know how to speak of it with her patient husband, but she continues to find excuses for not fulfilling her wifely duties. Only now she has heard the rumors that Lord Lovett has returned to the arms of his former mistress. What's a naïve wife to do?Lady Lovett's Little Dilemma was a charmingly tame short story. The dilemma that Cressida was dealing with was thoroughly explained, but it helped to realize that her knowledge was completely different from today's standards. Justin was an excellent hero, but he could only take so much of what Cressida was dishing out to him. It was the norm for his peers to stray back then, after all. I'm not sure that Lady Lovett's Little Dilemma was completely, historically accurate, but is sure was a sweet story!Lady Lovett's Little Dilemma even showed that someone who has become bitter over their lot in life can continue to be nasty and not change. It was also quite lovely that so many enjoyed a HEA in Lady Lovett's Little Dilemma without sacrificing too much for their bit of happiness. I wouldn't have minded if Beverley Oakley had wanted to push the limits a bit more in Lady Lovett's Little Dilemma*, but I did find this a sweet refreshing story.

Rake's Honour

Rake's Honour

Beverley Oakley

History / Romance

Fanny Brightwellhas just two weeks to find a husband who will fulfill her mama's maritalcriteria or she'll be forced to marry the loathsome libertine, Lord Slyther. That means twoweeks to convince dashing Viscount Fenton she's his perfect bride.Battling spurnedsuitors, jealous debutantes and a peagoose of a sister on the verge ofdestroying the Brightwell reputation, Fanny has little time to make herhandsome lover her slave in passion...So he'll make herhis wife. ReviewBookedUp Reviews:Reviewer: Dolce Amore - 5 Stars"What a splendid book! I loved every moment of it. Ms. Beverley Oakley created an original and amazing plot. She keeps our attention through the whole book. And the characters... what can I say? Outstanding! I loved Mis Fanny and adore Lord Fenton. I enjoyed with their misunderstanding and I was delighted by their torrid and passionate meetings. And the end... made me burst out laughing. It rocks! 5 stars for her and I can hardly wait to read her new release... Ms. Beverley Oakley, I'm not above begging for more! I expect I won't have to wait too much longer for it, you are now one of my favorite writers."Just Erotic Romance ReviewsReviewer: Barbara McCormick - 5 Stars"...The characters in Rake's Honour, a Regency romance, leap off the page and into the reader's heart....Ms. Oakley brings the setting and time period to life without lengthy descriptions of society's strict rules. The sex, oh my goodness, the sex is hot and in unusual settings as Fenton and Fanny must hide what they are up to from the eyes of judgmental society.Supporting characters like Fanny's younger sister and her friend and confidante, Lord Quamby, bring added life to a lush story. The pacing is just perfect, keeping you in your chair reading right through to the end. The "mamas" are ever present, placing demands on their children to marry well for family's sake. In the end, Rake's Honour is about satisfying society's demands while still finding ways to remain true to oneself and one's heart. For these reasons, Rake's Honour earns an honored spot on my re-read stack."From the AuthorI loved William Thackeray's famous Vanity Fair anti-heroine, the feisty, ambitious Becky Sharp much more than his heroine, the passive, naïve Amelia Sedley. I therefore thought it would be fun to write a book set in the Regency period with a heroine who had all the characteristics essential for survival but which were the antithesis of the womanly virtues upheld by the era. Thus Fanny Brightwell was born.
