“You and Joker should really come equipped with some kind of warning system,” King said with a grunt as he walked to his desk.

Fitz pressed his lips together, clearly amused. He wrinkled his nose in question.

“King has really bad timing. Like, really bad,” Jack informed Fitz before mouthing the words, “I’ll tell you later.”

“Are you sure you don’t mean really good timing,” Ace said as he flopped down onto King’s couch.

“Why are you all in my office?” King grumbled, as if they’d only just appeared and hadn’t been there for the last half hour or so.

“Frank’s tonight,” Ace said. “We’re celebrating Joshua becoming Colton’s new executive assistant. He won the position by a landslide. Talk about trial by fire. The guy looks all sweet and innocent, but he’s got balls of steel. I didn’t think anyone could be as fierce as Nadine. None of the other candidates made it through an entire day.”

“Wow, I didn’t know Colton was that hard on his assistants,” Fitz said with a frown.

Ace sat up. “He isn’t, but a key part of his executive assistant’s duty is to manage his schedule. A schedule that requires nothing short of time travel to work because Colton is in wedding-planner mode, despite having several actual wedding planners.” He ran his hands through his hair in frustration. “I have to schedule time to be with him, and I’m the one he’s marrying!”

“Aw, poor baby.” Fitz left Jack’s side, and Jack watched in amusement as Fitz sat next to Ace and pulled him into a hug, patting his head. Ace soaked up the attention, making pitiful noises. “Have you told Colton you’re feeling a little… neglected?”

  Ace sniffed.

  Unbelievable.

“I’m scheduled to have dinner with him tonight after he meets with someone about napkins.” Ace sat up, eyes wide. “Napkins! Like I care if the napkins are shaped like swans or dolphins or whatever the fuck. They’re napkins! But no, I have to pretend that napkins are the most important thing in the world, because to him, they are. Or at least it seems that way.” Ace sat back with a sigh. “Fuck. If the wedding is this hard, what’s it going to be like after?”

  “Ace?” Fitz said sweetly.

  “Yeah?”

“Why do you think Colton cares so much about napkins?”

“Because he has a terrifying need to be in control down to the most minute details?”

“Or maybe because giving gifts is Colton’s love language, and the perfect wedding is his way of giving you a physical representation of the love he feels for you, so anything short of absolute perfection won’t do.”

Ace blinked at him, his eyes slowly widening. “Holy fuck.” His jaw dropped, and he moved his stunned gaze to Jack. “Holy fuck!” He sprang from the couch, a slow smile spreading across his face. “Oh, he’s a keeper.” Ace popped a kiss on Fitz’s cheek before darting from the room and calling out behind him. “See you all tonight!”

“Wow.” King turned his attention to Fitz. “That was impressive.”

Fitz did a little happy shimmy in his seat. “Thank you. I do try.” He stood and held out a hand to Jack, who took it. They left the room and Fitz turned to Jack. “Pick me up?”

“Sure.” Jack reached down and swept Fitz up, making him yelp. Everyone in the office burst into catcalls and whoops.

“Don’t encourage him,” Fitz scolded, though it was hard to take him seriously when he couldn’t stop smiling.

Jack set him on his feet, and Fitz shook his head, his smile reaching his eyes. He kissed Jack, a quick pop on the lips, before turning and heading for the elevator, smacking Lucky in the arm as he walked by after Lucky clearly teased him.

“Yep, you got it bad, my friend,” Ace said, appearing from wherever the hell he’d come from in true Ace fashion.

“Yep,” Jack agreed. He did have it bad, and it was oh-so damned good.

That night they had dinner at a cute little Cuban café that Nash recommended. The food was incredible, though it posed a serious threat to Jack’s decency, what with Fitz making all those sex noises every time he bit into something.

“You know, the mojo pork is good, but I don’t know that it’s that good.”

“Oh, it is,” Fitz said around a mouthful. He did a little dance in his chair, which Jack thought was the most adorable quirk ever. When something made Fitz really happy or excited, he did a little dance. After dinner they had dessert, where Jack knew better than to suggest they share. Fitz wasn’t slender because he didn’t eat. He ate more than Jack and Joker put together. He had a fast metabolism, his body burning energy from food quickly.

Once they finished their meal, Jack drove them to Sapphire Sands. He didn’t intend on drinking that evening because he had to be at work ridiculously early for an installation job a couple of hours away. It was a typical night at the club—busy but not as packed, since it was a weekday. The go-go boys were back on the raised plinths in all their sparkly-blue-shorts glory. Their rowdy group was in the VIP section, thanks to Colton’s membership. It also didn’t hurt that Colton and Frank had been good friends for years.

“Hey, look who it is,” Ace shouted over the music. “Beauty and the geek!”

“Very funny, you delinquent.” Jack playfully smacked the side of Ace’s head before motioning for Fitz to slip into the booth first so he could sit next to Laz. Jack took a seat next to him, his arm around Fitz, who snuggled into him after greeting Laz. “Congrats, Joshua.”

Joshua smiled brightly. “Thanks, guys. And thanks for tonight.”

“You’re going to be seeing a lot more of these troublemakers, so you might as well get to know them better.”

“Hey,” Lucky said with a frown. “I resemble that remark.”

Jack shook his head. And so it began.

Several of the waitstaff brought trays of celebratory champagne over, but Jack asked for a soda.

  “Not drinking?” Colton asked.

Jack shook his head. “Driving. Got an early start tomorrow.” He took a few sips of his drink and wrinkled his nose. Maybe he’d order a virgin cocktail or something. He wasn’t a big soda drinker, and this one was a little too sweet for his taste.

“Ah.” Colton nodded and held up his champagne. “To Joshua. Here’s to what I hope is the start of a wonderful work relationship. Whatever happens, just remember, you could have been working for one of these guys.”

“Hey!” The Kings, Jack, and Joker cried foul, teasing Colton before making their toast. They were teasing Joshua when a dark shadow appeared. Jack smiled wide.

  “Hey, Frank.”

Frank nodded in greeting, and then his eyes landed on Joshua. Something softened in his gaze, and Jack exchanged glances with Ace, who sat across from him. His friend was bursting at the seams, his smile barely contained. Jack could only assume Ace’s lack of word-vomit was down to Colton.

“Hi,” Frank said to Joshua, voice low and gravelly.

Joshua’s cheeks went pink, and he smiled brightly. “Hi, Frank.”

“Um.” Frank cleared his throat. “Congrats on the, uh… promotion.”

  “Thank you.”

With another nod, Frank was gone. The man moved like a shadow. One second he was there, next thing he was gone without a sound.

“Ugh,” Joshua groaned. “What I wouldn’t give to climb that man like a tree.”

King almost choked on his drink. “What?”

“Excuse me.” Joshua got up since he was at the end of the booth and headed toward the bar, where Frank stood talking to one of his barmen.

“What was that about?” King asked Colton.

“Joshua’s had a crush on Frank since the day they met, but Frank is the most stubborn man I’ve ever known,” Colton said with a huff. “Present company excluded, obviously.”

“Ouch.” Ace put a hand to his heart. “Am I included in said present company?”

Colton lifted his drink to his lips and sipped.

  And sipped.

  Ace narrowed his eyes.

  Colton sipped some more.

“You know what, fine, but said company includes you, Mr. I’m Not Leaving Here Until I Get What I Want.”

“What’s so unreasonable about getting what you’re paying for?” Colton asked, eyebrow arched.

“Babe. Honey muffin. Corazon de mi vida. You want a blue that doesn’t exist in the color spectrum.”

Colton poked Ace in the chest. “The perfect blue is out there, Anston, and I’m going to find it.”

Next to him, Fitz cringed. While Ace tried to defuse the situation and Joker did his best to incite a war over the color blue, Laz declared it was time to dance. The music tonight was a mix of upbeat eighties and nineties songs. Frank loved his themed-music nights. Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” burst through the club’s high-end speaker system, and Fitz jumped excitedly. He grabbed Jack’s hand and dragged him at full speed to the dance floor.

They made their way to the middle of the floor, where Fitz spun to face Jack. He lip-synched the song to Jack as he danced with him and around him, his moves a mix of sensual and playful. Fitz’s energy was contagious, and Jack happily let himself get caught up in it. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d had so much fun dancing with someone. Fitz didn’t care where he was or who was around. He lost himself in the music and had fun. Jack loved that about him, loved how he let himself get swept up in the moment. When Haddaway’s “What is Love” came on, they bounced around the floor like a couple of college kids. Red shook his head in amusement at them, while Laz joined in the bouncing.

Ace and Lucky joined in, lip-synching together and making everyone laugh, but when Robert Palmer’s “Addicted to Love” came on, it was Jack’s turn to shine. He winked at Fitz and sang along as he moved around him, hands running over Fitz as he moved suggestively against him. Ace, Lucky, Red, and Laz provided backup air guitar, moving just like the girls in the video. Fitz threw his head back and laughed. Jack lost track of how long they’d been dancing, caught up in the whirlwind that was the amazing man in his arms. Jack’s shirt stuck to his back, sweat beaded his brow, and he was down to his fourth undone shirt button. He ran a hand through his hair when Fitz leaned in and whispered in Jack’s ear, “I’m feeling a little naughty.”

Jack smiled against Fitz’s cheek. “Oh. Well, how can I help?”

Fitz hummed. “You can escort me to one of the back rooms.”

  “My pleasure.”

  “I’m counting on it.”

They made their way toward the back of the club and the curtained-off areas containing private sections, beyond those a hallway lined with private soundproof rooms. Toward the end of the hall, one of the rooms was open, denoting it was unoccupied, and Jack hurried inside, then locked the door behind them. The room was identical to all the others, and although Jack hadn’t spent much time in them, he knew there’d be a sturdy black coffee table containing a bowl of condoms and bowl of lube packets in front of a black leather loveseat. The room had no windows except for the one on the door behind the black curtain. The rooms might be soundproof, but every member of the club knew what would happen if all parties inside this room weren’t in agreement with what was going to happen there. No one with any sense fucked with Frank and his rules.

Jack had just turned around when he had an armful of Fitz. He lifted Fitz and turned them around, holding Fitz up against the wall with his body.

  “Oh God, yes!”

“You drive me crazy,” Jack said, breathless already as they attacked each other’s mouth. “Like my body can’t contain everything I feel with you.”

They rutted against each other, their panting breaths filling the room as their kissing grew desperate. They licked, sucked, and nipped at each other, Jack’s painfully hard cock straining against his jeans.

“I need to be inside you. Fitz.”

“Yes, please, please, please. Against the wall. I want you to fuck me against the wall.”

Jack groaned and put Fitz on his feet long enough for Fitz to shove his pants down and step out of them before Jack had him up against the wall, his long legs wrapped around Jack. Fitz reached down between them and fumbled to unzip Jack’s pants while Jack pulled a packet of lube and a condom out from his jeans pocket. He handed them to Fitz.

“Open the lube for me,” Jack said, breathless.

Fitz hurried to tear at the lube packet with his teeth, then squeezed some onto Jack’s fingers. His eyes all but rolled into the back of his head when Jack slipped his index finger into Fitz’s hole. Their leaking cocks rubbed against each other as Jack played with Fitz’s ass, fucking him with his finger, stretching him before slipping in a second finger.

“Ngod,” Fitz moaned, making Jack huff out a laugh. He loved the noises Fitz made when Jack was inside him. Fuck, he looked gorgeous, his skin flushed, all that pretty hair falling over his face as he writhed against Jack. After moving his fingers away, he took the condom Fitz handed him, rolled it on, then lined up the head of his cock and gently pushed in, cursing under his breath at the delicious feel of Fitz’s body tightly gripping his hard length.

“Jack,” Fitz pleaded, swatting his bangs away from his face. “Fuck me.”

Making sure he had a good grip on Fitz, he let Fitz slide down until he was seated on Jack. Holding Fitz tight against the wall, Jack started to move, pounding up into him in short, deep, fast thrusts. Fitz cursed loudly, his arms wrapping around Jack’s head as Jack buried his face into Fitz’s neck. It was going to be quick. He was too wound up, too ready to explode from need to take things slow, especially with Fitz talking dirty to him in his ear.

“Face of an angel, mouth of a sinner,” Jack said with a groan as he pulled back enough to look at Fitz.

“Your sinner,” Fitz replied, licking a trail up Jack’s jaw, sending a shiver through his whole body. “And your sinner wants you to come inside him without the condom.”

Jack stilled and met Fitz’s gaze. “Are you sure?”

Fitz nodded. “We were both tested recently and know we’re negative, so why wait? It’s just you. No one else,” he said softly and pressed his lips to Jack’s. The fire between them once again flared, and Jack carefully pulled out to remove the condom. Fitz smiled against his lips, his green eyes filled with mischief.

“Fuck me like you mean it, soldier.”

Jack groaned and drove himself inside Fitz, his grunts and panting joining Fitz’s, the heat and tightness more than Jack thought he could take. His muscles strained, every inch of him lit up before his orgasm exploded through him. His hips thrust frantically, the sound of their bodies coming together over and over drowned out by Fitz’s demands for Jack to fuck him harder.

“Oh God, Jack, I’m going to come!”

Knowing he could make Fitz come without touching his cock, simply from their bodies rubbing together and the explosive desire Fitz had for him, had Jack crying out as he came inside Fitz.

“Yes! Oh God yes. Fuck. Fuck!”

Jack’s vision went blurry, and he wavered for a second. He buried his face against Fitz’s neck, his heart pounding in his ears and his breath labored as he slowed his thrusts. His legs ached, and he gently pulled out of Fitz. Finding it difficult suddenly to hold Fitz’s weight, he carefully placed Fitz on his feet.

  “That was…”

“Yeah.” Fitz brushed his lips over Jack’s. “What is it about you?”

  “Me?”

“Yes, you. I know this relationship is new, but whenever you’re around I can’t seem to stop myself from touching you. I want to have my hands…” He slid his hands up Jack’s chest. “Mouth…” He brought their mouths together, his tongue poking out to run along Jack’s bottom lip. “Body…” With a little moan, he thrust his groin against Jack’s. “All over you. I have an insatiable appetite when it comes to you.”

“I feel the same about you.”

Fitz smiled. “Not that I’m complaining.”

“I’m yours too, you know. For as long as you’ll have me.”

Fitz cocked his head to one side.

“When you said you were my sinner…” Should he say it? The words were on the tip of his tongue. Was it too soon?

Fitz smiled before getting dressed. “How about you take me home and we explore what kind of sinner you are.”

“Let’s go.” Jack shot a quick text off to Joker, who replied with several emojis that obscenely translated to him hooking up with someone. Outside, he turned in his ticket and they brought his car around. He helped Fitz into the passenger side, then climbed behind the wheel.

“You sure the guys don’t mind us taking off so soon?”

Jack shook his head as he turned onto A1A. “We just check in with someone so we know everyone’s okay, but we don’t have to stick together the whole night. We’re all used to doing our own thing. We hang out as a group, and then everyone gets cozy with their date, or in Sacha’s case, sometimes dates.”

“I was thinking, maybe tomorrow we could—”

Screeching tires had Jack slamming his foot against the accelerator just before pain engulfed him, his body jerking violently, the seatbelt digging into his skin. He threw his arm out toward Fitz on instinct, the other covering his head, something exploding in front of him. The whole left side of his body screamed in agony as something burst at his side. Airbags. The world plunged into silence and stilled as he struggled to focus, a horn blaring nonstop somewhere to his left. Moving his head made him hiss at the sharp jolt.

“Fitz?” Jack murmured, carefully turning his head, his stomach threatening to empty at the sight of Fitz, head lolled against the headrest, unconscious. “Fitz.” The passenger window was gone, the door crushed in, a car on the other side. Jack turned his head to his own crushed window and the other mangled car. They’d been hit on both sides. The light had been green for them; he’d stake his life on it.

“Don’t worry, the ambulance is on its way,” someone said from beside Jack’s window. “Try not to move.”

“Fitz,” Jack mumbled, feeling his body growing heavy. Darkness encroached on his vision, and he turned his head, reaching out to take Fitz’s hand before everything went black.
