Three of them moved to go around when she pointed up the street, and I suspected they were going to rescue their buddies and the cash that still probably laid on the front lawn of the bank. I considered splitting up, but I decided against it.
I wished Alyssa had been there, and not just for her abilities, but it was a random thought I easily pushed down. I needed to deal with reality, not wishes, and that moment was hardly the time to want my woman for non-professional reasons.
My woman? I pushed that down too.
The other two dove toward the ground, while Mindwave gestured with her hand, and the Myriads went flying into the bank through the front window.
Red Siren started to sing up at Mindwave, and I shot electricity down at the two divers. One hit, and fell to the ground, while the other one had dodged.
Mindwave slashed her hand at Red Siren, which was about as effective as Red Siren’s song. That is to say, not at all, both their magic shields were holding for the moment.
I shot a follow up lightning shot with my energy enchanted gauntlet, while simultaneously firing my rail gun three times into the Tasered one on the ground. The flyer who was left, fell back to the ground, with the extra cash bags he’d picked up, I guess then Mindwave cared more about the money than her people.
Mindwave screamed in anger, when I switched up my aim, and hit the second tasered guy with the rail gun, while simultaneously shooting a cuff spell at the one I’d already taken down.
That worked, but a moment later as I was going to cuff the second one, I felt like I got hit by a hammer. My shields held, but I got knocked away by the power of Mindwave’s mind, and my shields lost a good chunk of their power.
At that point, the Myriads ran back outside, and the two on the outside used their super strength to toss up the middle one like a bullet fired from a gun. I don’t know how, but she used subtle body movements and the air itself to adjust her trajectory, as Mindwave tried to dodge.
At the last second, Mindwave pushed away with both hands, and Myriad was pushed back and slammed into the ground hard. I winced at the sound of it, and then watched in horror as the body disintegrated.
I felt a moment of relief when I realized that hadn’t been the true Myriad, and her other two bodies were fine. I also took that moment to fire a cuff spell at the last ex-hero down there. That was five at that bank, and three at the last one that I feared would get away.
As I feared, the three that had gone on to the other bank, took off to the east fast, carrying the three we’d taken down, and several bags of money from several different banks. I itched to go after them, but Mindwave and Red Siren were still in a standoff, each attacking each other and wearing down shields.
I lifted my gauntlet and fired a plasma bolt at Mindwave, but she just waved it away and it was deflected up into the atmosphere.
Mindwave looked frustrated, as she glanced between Red Siren and I, and then she groaned in anger.
“Damn traitors! We need to put the government in their place!”
Then she closed her eyes, and she retreated to the east at very high speed, following the six others.
Shit, at least we got five of them, but seven had gotten away, with several bags of cash.
I looked around, and the reason for her groan of anger became apparent, as I watched the small white dot grow larger, into the White Witch.
She’d been having trouble with both of us, add in Alyssa and she wouldn’t have a chance. But damn, if she wasn’t a sight for sore eyes, for an entirely different reason.
We were all gathered in the command center an hour later. The four of us that were on the superhero team, Nate, Carina, Jenna, and Millicent.
Millicent cleared her throat, “Good job out there today. Yes, most of them got away, with a lot of money, but you couldn’t be everywhere at once. These damned ex-heroes make better supervillains than the supervillains do, only because they work well together in large numbers, without infighting I’d imagine.
“Regardless, good job. We also suspect Mindwave is the one in charge of all this. I suspect, although I can’t prove it, she may have been the one to encourage the other heroes to go rogue, even tweaked their minds. Her words there at the end, matched the rhetoric the other ones have been crying, too closely. Like she programmed them all.
“I imagine it hadn’t been much of an effort either, the ex-heroes must have been very angry about us stepping in and making it illegal for them to continue. They were also following her orders, which is another clue. Point being, we’ll be searching for Mindwave specifically, I suspect once we take her down the rest will unravel quickly.”
She waved at the television, and a picture of Mindwave popped up.
“Mindwave, her real name is Andrea Jones. She’s a powerful S-class, normal supers just have no chance against her telekinesis at all, and with her telepathy it’s impossible to sneak up on her. Fortunately, three of the four of you have shields against her brainwashing abilities.”
Alyssa cleared her throat, and Millicent paused and waved in her direction.
“I can shield others with the same spell, so Myriad could have a short window to be more effective when we locate and take in Andrea.”
Millicent nodded, “Very well. They fled east, but disappeared on you when you could finally pursue, I suspect their lair is in another direction, and her telepathy could have had people ignoring them when they went to ground. Jenna and Rose are working on finding their location, but it may not be easy. Again, she’s the priority target, so if something like this happens again let the others escape, if you have to.”
We all nodded.
Millicent nodded, “That’s it, be ready. We’ll move as soon as we find them, or they strike again.”
The room broke up, and I looked over at Carol.
“What happened today?”
Carol said, “My copies can be destroyed, if they run out of energy. Without fighting, they’d last about three hours. As a rule, I reintegrate them before that happens, but if they’re taken out in a fight, any experiences that they’ve had is lost to me. It’s a bit more complicated than that, but that’s the essence of it. I can explain more another time, if you’re still curious.”
I got her point, which was in private. There was something about her power she didn’t want to share with the government. I was curious, but it would certainly keep.
Or, maybe Carol was just too shy for a long explanation in front of witnesses. It was hard to tell, her intense stare, shy personality, and her mostly expressionless and severely beautiful face were inscrutable.
“I’m glad you’re okay, for a minute I worried that was the real you, like in the battle behind this building.”
Carol nodded, “A weighing of risk, that woman was far more dangerous.”
We all split up then, and as soon as we were along in the stairwell, I asked, “Dinner?”
Alyssa grinned, “I’ll be at your door at five. My plan and treat tonight.”
I raised an eyebrow, “I’m intrigued.”
She giggled, “See you then,” and then she bit her lip so alluringly and wistfully my cock stirred. The look of desire in her eyes must’ve matched mine, and I pulled her into my arms without a by her leave, and I stole a warm lingering kiss before I let her go into the hallway. She didn’t mind, she breathily sighed into my mouth, and melted her soft nubile body against mine.
When I released her, she looked dazed enough that I felt the confidence to give her a smug wink, and she blushed as she grinned widely.
“You’re a dangerous man,” she said breathily
I snorted, and accused, “Pot, kettle.”
She giggled, and the smugness along with a vividly lustful sexual tension danced in her warm brown eyes as she said teasingly, “Good to know.”
We stared into one another’s eyes for a few more heart pounding moments, then she sighed softly and turned away. I’d never felt a stronger attraction, or a deeper true connection to a woman before. So quickly I mean, she was a breathtaking whirlwind and was quickly becoming the center of my life.
I didn’t go into my apartment, or look away, until she went into hers.
Yeah, I had it bad, she was stunningly magnificent, sexy beyond belief, and I didn’t know how I felt. She made me dizzy with emotion. In truth I felt besotted, and smitten, but surely it was far too early for love, wasn’t it?
Still, I was positive that it was far more than just the intense chemical attraction, which was not inconsiderable in itself at that point, and had only grown.
She drove me crazy, and I wondered where we were going for dinner.
Chapter Eighteen
The knock on my door came just a few minutes after five. Two minutes late, was on time if not early, for a woman.
When I opened it up my mouth almost dropped open in surprise. She had a big smile on her face, one I couldn’t help returning. She also had on a cute light red matching outfit. The material looked like soft cotton, and very casual. I wondered just how much red was in her wardrobe, and hoped it kept coming, because she really did look great in it, even though she’d look great in a burlap sack, it was a matter of small degrees.
The red skirt made it down to mid-thigh, and the matching top was a loose half shirt that hung like a curtain just past her delightfully pert B cups, and it showed a small amount of cleavage on top. It was basically just a six-inch-wide tube of fabric, held up by thin spaghetti straps that went over her shoulders. Otherwise, her shoulders, neck, and arms were bare. Given that, I was almost positive that perkiness was all natural, because there was no way she had a bra on under that. Still, the material was obviously thick enough to maintain her modesty.
She looked fantastic, it was sexy, relaxed, and casual at the same time.
But what almost made my mouth drop open was she had her right arm out balancing a pizza box on her palm, while her left hand held a six pack of cokes.
I looked at her dreamily, then to the soda, then to the pizza, and then back into her warm brown eyes, and I finally said in mock awe, “You are the perfect woman.”
She giggled, “Stop that.”
I winked playfully, and then moved aside as I waved her in. When she walked past me, and I couldn’t help but check out her legs, I also noticed she was barefoot. Her feet were petite, and perfect, just like the rest of her. I didn’t have a foot fetish or anything, just saying her whole body was in such perfect proportion that it blew my mind, and it was as stunning as her lovely angelic face.
I closed the door as she sat down on the couch, and set down the pizza, then she bounced a couple of times as she smiled over at me.
She said, “This is a comfy couch, I like it.”
I’d liked it as well, that bouncing had removed all doubt, no bra at all. She was going to kill me.
She popped open the box, then frowned, “No plates. Or napkins. I forgot, so much for perfect.”
I laughed, “We’ll have to share the pizza box, and I have paper towels.”
I stepped into the bedroom, and I grabbed them from the closet before returning to the couch, and I sat close. Close enough for our hips and arms to rub, and she didn’t seem to mind at all.
She looked up at me, and I claimed a brief kiss, which put a goofy smile on both of our faces, before we both dug into the pizza, which was just a basic pepperoni. Although, it was fantastic, and I’m pretty sure she got extra cheese and pepperoni. It was also just a little oily, in a good way, they knew how to make good pizza. I noted the name on the box.
“Thanks for dinner, this is great,” I said.
She nodded, “I figured we couldn’t go out every night, but I wanted something private with you anyway, not the bugged kitchen. I like your stuff, mind if I snoop around later?”
I laughed, “Of course not, just say you have to use the restroom, and I’ll ignore it if I hear you rummaging the drawers in there.”
She giggled, “I’m not that nosy, I just meant your furniture.”
“Did I mention you look fantastic?”
She shook her head, “You were too busy being goofy, but you did call me perfect.”
I nodded sagely, “Well you do, look fantastic.”
She blushed under my regard, and she couldn’t look away, until I released her eyes and took another bite of pizza.
The sexual tension was there, but there was also a great amount of comfort in our closeness, and our obviously shared feelings and desires. I flipped the television on, and put on one of those music stations, just for some low background noise.
“So how was your day?”
She took a minute to swallow, and then said, “I quit college, sort of. And no, not because I missed you, even if I did, miss you I mean.”
I nodded slowly, “For the reasons you shared the other night?”
She hummed in agreement, since she already had another mouthful of food, and I decided to shut up and eat. Supers needed to eat a lot, and it wouldn’t take long to polish off my half of the pizza, while she wolfed down hers.
I wasn’t surprised when she beat me to it, women supers weren’t dainty eaters, and it didn’t bother me in the least.
She sighed in contentment, took a sip of her soda, and then wriggled into my side as she put her feet up on the other side of her, half under her body.
I sure as hell didn’t mind, I wrapped my arm around her and ate the last slice with my left hand.
“Sort of?”
She shrugged, “There’s rounding out my knowledge too, even if I have my chosen superhero career. Plus, I didn’t want to waste all the money, so I transferred into the online courses. They have canned lectures, online work materials I can do at my own pace, and I’ll still get the credits, while I learn more about things. I’ll decide if I want to go forward with it when I finish those.
“Plus, it’s something to do with my spare time. Plus, now we can patrol from lunch to early evenings every day, and still have our nights together.”
“I missed you, too.”
She grinned, “And admitted it without the oversharing deflection.”
I smirked, “It’s far too late for that. Oh, I get to be Carol’s sparring partner after breakfast every day. So that’s new, for about a half an hour. To keep myself sharp.”
She smiled, “That’s good news. I thought they’d avoid you forever. I might drop by to watch you get beaten up.”
I laughed, “Be my guest, but I’ll warn you now, it won’t be my fault when my prowess makes you lose control.”
She giggled derisively, and pushed on my chest playfully, then she left her hand there as she snuggled in deeper.
I couldn’t help but pull her against me tighter, steal a sniff of her apple cinnamon hair, and to kiss her head before I took another sip of coke.
She sighed in contentment, then looked up at me through lidded eyes.
“Daniel, how do you really feel about me? No jokes.”
I swallowed a sip, and then I put the coke down as I looked into her eyes.
“I’m falling in love with you, Liss. Deeply, inexorably, and overwhelmingly.”
Her breath caught, and her eyes widened at the simple and straightforward tone in my voice. She gasped in a breath, when I caressed her beautiful face softly, and then bent down and claimed her lips. She sighed in pleasure into my mouth, as she pushed against me, and then swung her leg up and around as she slipped onto my lap as the kiss grew passionate, demandingly so.
The material of her sexy and casual outfit was as soft as I’d imagined, as I ran my hands down her sides, softly teasing the sides of her breasts in their passage, until they reached the silky soft skin of her bared waist.
She gasped into my mouth, as my hands squeezed her firmly and my thumbs teased the silken soft bottom of her breast with a light stroke, and she broke the kiss. She looked into my eyes, and there was so much passion and need in them that it took my breath away.
She said in a soft passionate voice full of wonder and desire, “I’m falling for you too, Daniel. You’re all I think about, and I need… I need you, I need more, I need things I’ve never felt before, from you.”
I saw no doubt in her eyes, like I had last night, and I leaned up to kiss her again. My hands firmly roamed down the delicious valley of her waist, her nubile and supple body felt warm and oh so soft under my fingers. I continued to run them down her thighs, and onto the soft skin of her legs. I squeezed once, and she ground her body against me as she released a needy sigh between slightly parted lips.
I licked her bottom lip, and she opened up farther for me. Our tongues dueled playfully, which made her moan in delight, and my hands travelled back up her legs, beneath her skirt and around. I gripped her supple and petite sexy bubbled ass for the first time, and it was better than I could have imagined. So soft, so firm, so sexy.
She gasped into my mouth, then whimpered in need, my sweet mischievous Alyssa was turning into a wild thing in my arms, on my lap, and I was so fucking hard it hurt as she ground her heat against me through the fabric of my shorts.
There was one other thing, I didn’t feel panties at all, which made my cock twitch hard against her heat. She’d planned this, maybe not the details, but she’d hoped for this, wearing nothing but a sexy red outfit, no bra, no panties, and dear god she was going to kill me. Her kiss was soft, aggressive, passionate, and she was turning into a wild thing for me, surrendering herself to me.
“Daniel,” she whispered softly, in a needy and lusty tone that made my heart skip, then pound like a snare drum as I grabbed her ass firmly one more time, then picked her up as I stood.
She gasped, and her arms tightened around the back of my neck, while her legs wrapped around me. The look in her eyes was so intense, so much need, so much emotion, even the start of love.
She looked a little nervous, as I started to carry her toward the bedroom.
I asked, “Are you sure?”
She nodded, “Yes, but be gentle. I’m not intact, but I’ve never, I don’t know…” I shut her up with a kiss, and she sighed into my mouth in pleasure and surrender.
