“Yes! Yes, yes, yes!” Leo threw his arms around Noah’s neck, knocking them backwards onto the path in his exuberance.
They kissed, and Noah distantly heard applause from around them, but he focused on his fiancé. His fiancé. He sat them up with Leo straddling his legs and held out the box.
“Do you want this?” he asked with a grin.
“Please.”
Leo’s eyes sparkled as he opened the box, hands returning to his mouth when he saw the amber and turquoise gems nestled into the white gold band. Noah had chosen it because the colours had reminded him of this very fountain and the moment they shared their first kiss.
“I love you,” Leo said as Noah slid the ring onto his finger.
“And I love you.”
They shared a kiss, right there on the ground. Noah rested their foreheads together. “Do you want to spill the news to your parents now, or wait until we get home?”
Leo smiled and snuggled into Noah’s chest. “Let’s wait. I want to stay in our little cocoon for the weekend, then we can share the news with the world.”
Noah chuckled, pushing Leo to stand and climbing to his feet. “I don’t think the world needs to know, but your parents, yes.”
He threaded their fingers together. “How about we head back to the hotel and see if the bathtub fits us both in it?”
Leo grinned. “I don’t know. It might be a tight squeeze.”
