Or it could have been something to do with the laws of the universe, or fate. Maybe that's just a ton of mumbo jumbo, but similar games and advancements are probably destined to be made, or something like that. I can't figure out the exact way to word it, but somewhere in the back of my mind I feel that must be true.

  Anyway, this is the moment.

It feels anti-climactic, to be honest. The fight with the Drakes was the climax.

There are apparently several steps to administering the potion, more than whatever I did, because Drake eyes are a volatile ingredient, meaning that everything has to be done as quick as possible before the effect of the eyes evaporates.

Elerna sweeps her hand outward, sending mana spiraling in a twisting tornado shape. It instantly sets like hard stone against the walls of the room, creating a thick, smoky atmosphere. The smoke seeps into Aria's lungs.

She leans over, pulling the cork from the bottle of potion, which looks like magma.

Instead of directly pouring it, she begins to move strangely, like she's conducting a ritual. I watch closely with , soaking up the knowledge. It permeates my veins, sending a ripple of excitement through me.

This act continues for a while, until Elerna feeds Aria just a tiny bit of the potion, slapping the cork back on.

  Then, rinse and repeat.

The entire process is finished after thirty seven minutes and fourteen seconds.

  Yes, I counted.

I watch expectantly for any sliver of a moment from Aria. I suck in a breath, and for a moment, nothing happens. I wait another second, and see a tiny flicker of movement. It's nothing noticeable, but it's something.

I can already imagine the rewards her family will give me.

Her lashes flutter as a low groan escapes her body. I activate , attempting to look and see whether the Rot has been purged. And lo and behold, it's gone. Like nothing was ever there, the Rot has completely disappeared, and Aria's soul looks better than ever.

  My eyes widen.

  And she opens hers.
