“It’s not that I don’t love them…”
“It’s just because tomorrow’s so special,” she replied.
Very special. Not just because it was their first holiday season in their new home. Not just because it was the first Christmas since they’d gotten married last year, on Christmas Day. Not just because they were still wildly in love and so incredibly happy. Not even because Lucy had become a fan of Christmas again.
No, they were glad to be alone because they both wanted to savor and rejoice in the early present they’d received ten days ago. Well, two presents.
They were sleeping upstairs in matching cribs, one with a blue baby blanket, the other pink. Scott and Jennifer—Jenny—named after the grandparents they would never know.
When Ross had suggested the names, she’d thought her heart would break. Not with sadness, but because of how happy her parents would be to see her so deeply loved by such an amazing man.
That, she knew, was the greatest Christmas gift she would ever receive. And she’d be getting that gift every day for the rest of her life.
