Talib changed his angle of penetration a bit, smiling as she gasped in pleasure. As she tightened around him, he was glad to know that she was as close to finding rapture as he was. “Stick around and find out.”

PJ moved with him, loving the feel of his strength surrounding her, driving her pleasure to heights she’d never known existed. Sure, she’d had sex before, but this was different somehow. There was no question this time but that her heart was involved in the act, not just her body.

“Come with me,” Talib commanded her, increasing the speed and power of his thrusts as he flung them into paradise.

PJ heard someone moaning in pleasure, shocked to find her voice blending with Talib’s. She struggled to maintain control, but as he thrust into her one last time, she gave into the pleasure that was threatening to consume her, screaming as the orgasm took hold of her.

Talib tried not to crush her with his weight, but as he regained his breathing, his arms began to shake with the effort. Placing his elbows upon the bed on either side of her head, he dropped his forehead down to rest against her own, “Are you alright?”

PJ smiled, “Perfect.” She hid a yawn behind her hand, “Sorry.”

Talib rolled from her, settling himself on his side before turning her so that her back was to his chest, “Don’t be. You have every right to be tired. And I should be horsewhipped for not letting you rest first.”

PJ shook her head, “Don’t regret what we just did…”

“I’m not regretting anything, but it is both my pleasure and my responsibility to ensure your safety. That includes getting some much needed rest. Why don’t we both get a few hours of rest, and then we can pick this up right where we left off?”

PJ yawned again, this time no amount of hiding was possible. “I’m so tired.”

“As am I. I’ll be right back.” Talib removed himself from the bed, washing himself up in the bathroom, before bringing a warm cloth back to the bed and doing the same for her. “Shush,” he told her when she protested.

PJ didn’t know what to think when he proceeded to wash her, removing the evidence of their desire from between her legs and thighs. It was such a sweet gesture, and the truth was, she didn’t have the energy to visit the bathroom herself.

Tossing the used washcloth towards the corner of the room, Talib rejoined her on the bed, once again spooning himself against her backside. “Now you will rest better.”

“Thank you,” PJ muttered, already feeling sleep beckoning her to give in.

Talib hugged her close, “Sleep now.”

  “Stay with me?” PJ asked.

“Yes. I believe someone mentioned a second round. I would hate to miss it.”

PJ smiled and nuzzled his forearm where it was wrapped high across her chest, “No worries there. You’re the star of the show.”

  “Sleep.”

No more words were said as they both gave in to the exhaustion caused from both a lack of sleep and the excitement of the day. There would be plenty of time later to exchange words and get to know each other better.

  Chapter 19

Khalil pulled Shira from Erin’s bedside later that afternoon, seeing her trying to contain her yawns. “Come, let us rest before dinner.”

“Rest?” Shira asked, letting him guide her across the open foyer to his own apartments.

“Rest,” Khalil assured her with a twinkle in his eyes.

“But, I am not really all that tired right now.”

“Your yawns tell a different story.” At the mention of yawning, Shira did so again, covering her mouth with her hands. “See, you are tired.”

“You’re right. I couldn’t sleep at all last night, worrying about Erin. I’m so glad she’s going to be okay,” Shira told him, turning into his arms and wrapping herself around him.

“I too am glad that everything is going to be fine. Kamal still plans on holding the wedding the day after tomorrow.”

Shira snuggled her head against his chest, “I know. You should have seen Aunt Patty’s face when he made that declaration. I expected her to argue, but she sided with Kamal.”

“She and your uncle are wonderful people.”

“Thank you. I’ve always thought that as well.”

Khalil divested Shira of her clothing, tucking her beneath the covers before removing his own clothes and joining her on the other side of the bed.

Shira waited until he was under the covers before she turned, laying her head upon his chest and wrapping her legs with his own. “I guess maybe I’m more tired than I thought.”

Khalil smiled against the top of her head, “It’s partly the adrenaline drop. Now that you are not worrying about Erin, your body can focus on its need for sleep.”

Shira nodded her head, “That must be it. I can hardly keep my eyes open.”

“Don’t then. Shut them. I will keep you safe.”

  Shira smiled, “You always do.”

Khalil let his own eyes close, drifting into a light slumber while he held his future close to his heart.

  *****

Kamal was finally alone with his bride to be. She was sleeping peacefully and had no idea of the torment her disappearance had put him through.

He shed his clothes, having given orders to the guards standing outside the family apartments that no one was to be disturb them. Talib had taken the young American to her assigned rooms, and had not returned yet. That fact didn’t disturb Kamal, instead, he was encouraged to know that his little cousin might be on the path to finding a life partner as well.

Khalil had pulled Shira away only moments before, and Erin’s parents had finally succumbed to the jetlag and headed to their own chambers. This left him alone with Erin for the first time since she had been brought back to the palace and he felt a pressing need to hold her close for a while.

He positioned her on her side, smiling when she muttered in her sleep, yet not waking up. He used his arms to cage her upper body against his own, letting her nestle her buttocks back into his groin.

He closed his eyes as he fought with himself for control. The doctor had been very specific about her need for rest if she was to make a full recovery. Sighing against the back of her head, he put a little distance between their hips, only to have her squirm one again until she was nestled tightly against him. Even in her sleep the little minx drives me insane!

He felt his body tighten, but did not act upon it. It was many minutes before he finally allowed himself to drift off to sleep, with an armful of woman, the scent of her wrapping itself around him like a blanket. Together, they slept, letting time and rest remove the fear that had ruled their lives over the last day and a half.

He had so many things he wanted to tell her, but he wanted her awake to hear them. He wanted her to realize, if she didn’t already, just how important she had become to him. She was his life! “Ente omri” he whispered to her as he let sleep claim him.

  Epilogue

PJ watched as Shira placed the finishing touches upon Erin’s veil. Miss Malone, Erin as she had instructed PJ to call her, had chosen to be married to Kamal in the native dress of Jawhara.

Her emerald green robes, trimmed with gold edging, accentuated the paleness of her skin, the fiery color of her hair, and almost perfectly matched her expressive eyes.

PJ had only spent a few hours with both women, but knew that theirs would be more than a standard guard and client relationship. They had already developed a budding friendship and PJ looked forward to spending more time with both women.

After everyone had gotten some much needed rest, they had met with the American security personnel late yesterday evening. The body of the kidnapper had been returned to Sumari and his next of kin – along with the body of his mother.

She had taken her own life, inside the tent in the refugee camp. The palace guards had found her lying in the middle of the tent, empty lifeless eyes staring up at the ceiling, her body cold and stiff. The doctor had estimated she most likely killed herself shortly after Amir and Erin had left the camp.

With them both dead, and the leadership of Sumari assuring Kamal that Amir had been acting on his own, the entire incident had been labeled closed. Only, the men of Jawhara were not so easily mollified. The threat to themselves and their women was still strong and ever-present.

Kamal, Khalil, Talib and Slade discussed the remedies available to them, and it was decided that PJ would remain in Jawhara indefinitely, or until such time as she asked to return to the states. Talib assured the other men he had no intention of letting her slip away from him.

Due to Shira and Erin’s sometimes hectic schedules, it was decided that another female operative needed to be brought in to work side-by-side with the other American men. PJ couldn’t be expected to watch both women, all the time.

Slade knew of just the woman, and after gaining Kamal’s support, placed the call. He had told PJ about the woman who was to be arriving before the wedding ceremony took place and her new role in helping ensure Erin and Shira’s safety.

PJ had been impressed when Slade told her about the woman’s abilities and was looking forward to meeting her.

As Slade was sticking close to Kamal today, he had asked PJ to make sure someone met the newest member of their team and escorted her to the wedding.

She had spoken with Brock only moments before returning to Erin’s dressing room, letting him know the woman had landed and was on her way to the palace. She had asked Brock to escort her to the garden where the wedding ceremony was about to begin.

  *****

Brock watched the limousine pull up in front of the palace and then saw the rear door open. He lifted his eyebrows when a pair of very tan, very bare, and very long legs emerged from the car.

Letting his eyes travel up to see the rest of the body attached to them, he nodded his head slightly in approval. Until he reached her face, that was. What is the hell was Keira doing here?

Keira Mansour stepped from the limo and looked at the man waiting to greet her. A man who still played a starring role in her most erotic nighttime fantasies. A man she hadn’t seen in over ten years, but who hadn’t really changed all that much. A man who had unknowingly given her the strength and the courage to take charge of her life and become everything she was today.

She had never thought to see him again, yet here he was, standing right in front of her. Now what?

"Hi," Saja said. The least she could do was be civil. Maybe if she were, then he would let her go home. She joined him at the table. Mona and Amber were serving them their dinner. They shot each other looks. They were expecting something to happen. Basil and Saja were like oil and water, they did not mix.

"You are wearing a dress," Basil said right before he took a sip from his glass.

"I have nothing else to wear. One morning I woke up and my clothes had mysteriously disappeared," Saja replied.

"Loose fitting clothes flatter you more."

  "How so?"

"They're more modest and traditional plus they leave more to the imagination."

Saja shook her head. She did not even want to get into this again. "Why aren't you married?" She asked, changing the topic to focus on him rather than herself. She had been wondering why he was still single, not that she was surprised.

"Marriage was not my priority," Basil replied. He wondered why she questioned him, but for now, he was going to reply to her politely and entertain her curiosity.

  "And it is now?"

"It still is not but my family thinks I should wed."

Saja chewed and swallowed before she spoke again. "Why the arranged marriage? Have you not found a woman you love?"

Basil smirked at her before he replied. "Love you say," he said. Saja looked at him questioningly. "I do not believe in love," he answered her question before she asked it. Saja laughed softly. Amber and Mona were standing by the entrance, in case either Saja or Basil needed something. Amber nudged Mona when Saja laughed. The two of them were shocked to see her laughing in his presence. Amber could not tell if she was being sarcastic or genuine.

"Someone broke your heart?" she asked him.

"Like that is possible," Basil smirked. He was always the heart breaker. Women would almost die for him or to be with him. Except for Saja.

"Are you afraid that no woman would return your love?"

Basil broke out into laughter. This conversation is getting ridiculous, he thought.

"Why does that amuse you?" Saja asked him.

"I only fear God. Fearing one-sided love? No that is not me. It is the woman who should fear me not returning her love," Basil replied. Saja grunted. "I saw your father." Basil said finally putting a stop to the ridiculous topic.

"Not my father and I do not care," Saja carried on eating. Basil said nothing. He could understand her not wanting to discuss him. The man did not love his daughter and it was apparent. Basil nodded and carried on eating.

  "You are twenty-four?" he asked.

"In a few months. You're thirty-three, why are we stating the obvious?" Saja asked.

"You are still young. Perhaps your punishment should be light."

Mona closed her eyes momentarily. The speculation was over. She knew Saja was about to erupt when Basil said the word punishment.

"Excuse me? Punishment for what?" Saja asked as she wiped her mouth with a napkin. Good thing she had finished eating because it was about to kick off.

"The way you speak to me is unacceptable."

"And keeping me here against my will is?"

Basil sipped the last of his drink. Amber quickly approached him to refill his glass but he put his hand up to stop her. "You are my betrothed, which means I can do as I please with you. However, I cannot marry a woman with no manners. You shall be tamed," he told her, as he stood up from the table. Saja also got up.

"You can't tame me," Saja said the word tame with such disgust.

"Watch me," Basil headed for the door.

Saja had tried to be civil but he pushed her once again. She walked over to the sofas and picked up the pillows. She started throwing them at him. Mona and Amber gasped.

"You will regret that," Basil said and left.

Julia Thompson sat at the bar and watched the crowded dance floor, once again trying to find her best friend, Tonya, amidst the masses of writhing bodies. She pushed her glasses up on her nose, and her brown hair off her forehead, fanning herself to move the air around.

It was Friday night and they were supposed to be celebrating Julia having won the coveted exchange position in her company. Every year, three employees from the American-based mining company traded placed with three employees from the Russian-based mining company. Prior to this year, all of the exchange positions had been filled with men, but Julia had proven that she could hold her own in the financial world. Much to her counter-part’s dismay, she had been given the chance to fill the position for the upcoming year. She would be leaving for Russia within the next few weeks and needed a break before the madness of preparing to leave the US for a year began.

She had been ecstatic and she and Tonya had gone out to celebrate. The hottest nightclub in the city was DYSH and they had waited for thirty minutes to gain access to the inside. The crowd was to be expected so early on a Friday evening, and Julia hoped that as the night progressed, the people would begin to thin out.

She loved to dance, but being pressed up against five other people while she did so was not her idea of a good time.

While she waited for Tonya to return, she glanced around the large room once more, focusing once again on the group of good-looking men sitting at the corner table. They were all tall, with dark hair, and great physiques. The two younger men kept going out on the dance floor, but the third man simply watched.

Feeling someone staring at him, Dmitry raised his head and once again caught the young woman sitting at the bar looking directly at him. He raised an eyebrow at her and then smiled when she held his gaze and didn’t look away.

Julia wasn’t sure why she kept staring at him. He gave off an aura of power and danger, but she was feeling on top of the world at the moment, and the alcohol buzzing through her system helped her project a confidence she normally didn’t have.

Dmitry motioned with his head for her to come to him, pleased when she slipped from the stool and sauntered over to him, a small smile upon her face. “Hi,” she said when she was standing next to his table.

“Hello. Would you care to join me?”

Julia nodded and slid into the booth, “How come you’re not joining your friends on the dance floor?” She tossed her head towards the throng of people and then looked back at him.
