“I’ve never played a husband before.”
Veronica wrinkled her nose. “That’s fine by me. This isn’t some role, you know. This is for keeps.”
“It’s forever,” he agreed. “So I want to do it right. What do you say we get married right away and spend the next few months on a private honeymoon figuring this marriage thing out?” He tugged on her hair. “Somewhere tropical. I find myself craving coconut all the time for some reason.”
“I’m craving a lot more than that,” she said, rising up on her tiptoes to kiss him. His eyes lit up, and he obliged her by leaning down.
Chris deserved his reputation as the best kisser in Hollywood, and Veronica had no doubt there were thousands of women who would love to be in her place. But he was all hers, and she was thrilled to be all his. As his kisses grew warmer and threatened to melt her into molten lava at his feet, she stepped back. “I didn’t just mean that. Let’s go find some carbs.”
He laughed and grabbed hold of her hand to spin her around. “That’s what I love about you, Curly Top. You always have your priorities in order.”
