The Elder Races are diminishing. The world is rejecting them. However they must accomplish one final thing before they pass into myth and legend. But first they must learn what this task is and in doing so face their greatest fears.Coming to terms with her grief and despair following the loss of Minervar in ‘A Twist of the Sands’, Nar'Allia seeks solace back home in the great wood. Many years pass and she thinks she is recovered, at least partially. She thinks herself happy at last; well at least she tells herself so. But when someone from the east, someone she once knew seeks her out wanting to return something that belongs to her, something from the past. Then when this someone begs her for aid and once more raises old hopes. Old and painful memories she thought were forgotten and pushed to one side float back to the surface and she finds herself once more deeply embroiled in adventure. This time the whole family are involved, each having to go their own way, each having their own tasks to complete, their own answers to find, their own dangers to face. What awaits them shocks them all to the core, challenges their very beliefs. They must risk everything; even risk the world in which they live for this one chance to accomplish what must be done. To freely offer redemption and unconditional forgiveness for all the transgressions of the past. To right all the wrongs and show compassion to those who are fallen. Will they find the courage to do what is required of them? Will they give up everything and face an uncertain future? Will they gamble the safety and security of the whole world to ensure the future benefit of all? Will they willingly face their nightmares and live through their deepest fears? Will they pay the required price in a currency based on their own blood, sweat and tears? Then if they are successful in all this, if they should survive, then they know they must finally make the greatest choice of all. Make a decision they never in their wildest moments thought they would have to face. Will they be freely willing to give up everything they know? Will they be willing to pass beyond all memory and fade into history, passing finally into myth and legend?

The story is told through the eyes of Minervar a student healer. A chance meeting with a battle-weary mercenary called Serinae, throws them both into an epic adventure. They must discover their ancient history to save their precarious future. But Serinae's mysterious past is trying to stop them. Much is lost and gained before they finally win through - with more than a few twists along the way.The young elf Minervar has quite naively jumped at the opportunity of adventure. But what self-respecting, talented young novice wouldn’t? Especially if they had a muscle bound guardian and teacher called Jondris along for the ride. Whilst on her day off, enjoying a quiet ale in a tavern, Minervar has a chance meeting with a kinswoman, the stunningly beautiful, but mysterious God-fearing ranger from the wilds, an elf called Serinae and her business partner Teouso. This human stranger from the east badly in need of a dentist who is a man but has an uncanny knack fighting as a large canine. Well, events quickly start to take an interesting turn. They are joined by a wise-cracking, ale-swilling professional soldier, a vacationing dwarf called Łĩnwéé who has big attitude and a liking for freshly poached eggs and dragon scales. They find themselves rescuing Tnie from a lynch mob. They don’t know it at first but Tnie is a fugitive, on the run from the authorities after intentionally destroying part of his home city (the uninhabited part luckily!) to save it from an invading army, an ancient force that has already caused much destruction back inages past. The companions discover at a high-society dinner party, hosted by the last remaining member of an ancient elven guild of academics, that their world is under threat. Natural cataclysmic events are on the increase (some would call these ‘Twists of Eternity’). Not only that, but they also find out that some of their group are unintentional refugees and not from the world they live in at all. With more questions than answers, they set out to learn what they can from the elder races, for each has knowledge and skills necessary to rescue the planet from certain doom. The only problem is, they are missing a member. They need a representative from the murderous war-loving race of the ognods, a race of giants from the north that all the other races hate and fear, with good reason. If that’s not sufficient to put a damper on the proceedings, it becomes apparent that other unrelated dark forces are trying to hinder them, even stop them altogether. Dark forces that are uncomfortably linked to the history of the elven race and more personally to Serinae’s own mysterious past.Wrongs are righted, lessons are learnt, battles are fought. Strange lands are travelled both within the world and without. Strange creatures discovered and avoided, especially the ones that dig tunnels using their naturally generated atomic energy (good for instantly heating water for tea though!). The company perseveres. They must discover their own secret past to save their precarious future. Finally with the help of a gargantuan technological marvel that runs on ‘chips’, designed and installed by a mysterious and extinct race of beings with a history more ancient than the planet itself, they succeed. The companions, although changed by their epic discoveries and experiences forever, put the world to rights. As for Minervar, well, she may just learn many things about herself along the way.

Book Two, following on from ‘A Twist of Eternity’. A character from Minervar’s past arrives unannounced with a surprise. An innocent opportunity that sparks both hers and her half daughter Nar’Allia’s imaginations. Alas, grasping this chance turns their world upside down.Time has moved on since the events that led to the recovery of the ancient father’s great machine. The machine has restored equilibrium to the world and once again there is a time of peace. Minervar and Iolrreas are living with their people in the great wood, the forest of Gel’Te’Ertenya that covers much of the western half of the continent of Dahl’Ambronis.Iolrreas’s first born daughter Nar’Allia is no longer a child and no longer living in the north and enduring the squalor of Tent Town. She has come of age and is perhaps struggling a little with what it means to be a young woman in her society. Amongst all this she is busy trying to decide what to do with her life.Minervar has not heard anything from her traveling companions of old, the friends she made and lost during the time of the first book - ‘A Twist of Eternity’.The elder races however remain disparate and few. Separated long ago by a war raged by a warring race keen on domination, a race that in their arrogance didn’t foresee that their greatest enemy would turn out to be themselves. For the war mongering ognods have never recovered from their civil war.Of the other races the dwarves stay hidden, for the most part ignoring that which goes on around them, they stay in their halls below the mountains. The keepers remain as secretive as ever. The gnomes continue to struggle with internal strife, mourning the past and the decisions they were forced to make. As for the elves, they out of all the races seem happy with their lot for the most part, yet they still harbor a dark legacy, an impending doom that hangs over them. The T’Iea’Neat’Thegoran, the dark elves, they have gone to ground, hidden somewhere in the world or maybe without, their plans foiled for the time being, but waiting for their next opportunity to strike out. But then there are the humans, the race of men, they continue to struggle with their own past, an old fear borne from great mistakes that continues to haunt them. Old hints of a forgotten past surface occasionally reminding them of their mortality and past weakness.Suddenly a character from Minervar’s past arrives at the door unannounced with a surprising offer, an innocent opportunity that sparks both hers and her half daughter Nar’Allia’s imaginations. Little do they know that grasping this chance will turn both their worlds upside down. An unexpected disaster will befall them and their family. This single event thrusts Nar’Allia way out of her comfort zone. The resulting turmoil has her making discoveries of breath-taking substance that lead her to undertake deeds of epic proportions. Once again old adversaries are pitched against each other, with more than a few ‘twists’ along the way.
