“Help me get this top unlaced. It doesn’t come off without help.”

As Trent embraced her from behind and cupped her breasts for the first time, she gasped again as her legs shook. “I said... unlace me. Not... grope me.”

He nibbled on her neck as he fondled her breasts. “Would you like me to stop?”

“Not... really. Oh, gods.” She wobbled on her knees before she caught herself. “Don’t forget to squeeze my nipples.”

It was a good thing he had such deft fingers. He had her top unlaced and off of her a moment later, and then she spun to kiss him hard once more. As his hand coursed up her side to cup the side of one of her bare breasts, she lightly bit his lip.

Her hands fumbled with his belt as he groped her, and then she dropped to her knees as she pulled his pants down to his ankles. As he stepped out of them, she eyed the bulge in his smallclothes with a hunger that made him weak. She looked up.

“I’m starting to understand how you can satisfy five wives.”

Trent stroked her hair. “One question first. After sex, you’re not going to pass out and shoot green lasers at the ceiling if I finish inside you?”

She laughed as she rose again. “Did Ruby really do that?”

“You don’t want me to answer that.”

“No, I don’t. And I won’t.” She wriggled out of her tight hunting pants to reveal she wore nothing underneath but thin green panties. The spot between her legs was damp. That was a good sign.

She slipped her panties off with ease, then let them dangle on one finger as she looked him over appreciatively. Her gaze traveled hungrily up his body to meet his eyes.

  “Anytime, lover.”

Trent took a moment to appreciate her perfect body in the gloom of the orrery. Her muscular yet delicate arms. Her fantastically taut midriff and her full breasts. And the tuft of dark hair between her legs. He finished undressing, then yanked her close.

They kissed eagerly, and soon he was on his ass with her lithe and naked body grinding against his. Her pink nipples hardened between his fingers as he did as she’d asked. She grunted and wrapped her legs around him, rubbing her wetness on his cock.

As one of his deft fingertips found and started circling her clit, she moaned loud enough that it echoed through the orrery. She stared into his eyes with a lust that was both powerful and a bit alarming, given she was strong enough to snap him in half if she lost control.

“Okay. You obviously know foreplay, but I need you inside me. Now.”

He took a firm grip on her ass with one hand and used the other to guide his cock inside her. She cried out in delight and then started riding him so forcefully, he had no choice but to let her do as she wished. Not that he minded. Not when she wanted him this much.

Her breaths grew ragged as she tested her limits and his. She was tight and warm and felt fantastic, and her arms pressed like a vice around him as she rode him with increasing confidence. Their bodies merged as they made love in the twilight of the orrery, and Trent knew from the heat in her kisses and the longing in her eyes that he’d made the right choice.

As he alternated between staring into Emerald’s lusty blue eyes and burying his face in her perky tits, her grunts grew more frequent and more guttural. He knew she was close. Yet given her urgency and eagerness, even his usual endurance wasn’t up to the task.

He did his best. He really did. Yet she was riding him so forcefully, he would have needed superhuman endurance not to climax inside her, especially with her panting words in his ear.

  “Fuck. Harder. Yes.”

As he felt his peak approaching, he gripped her hips to slow her. “Wait, wait.”

She stared down at him in dreamy delight. “What?”

“Let me finish you with my fingers.”

“Aww, that’s so sweet of you!” She grinned mischievously. “But no.”

She forcefully shoved him onto his back and started rolling her hips even more eagerly than before. She wanted him to finish inside her, and she wasn’t taking no for an answer. Her palms flattened on his chest, and then she stared down at him and grinned an almost mad grin.

“Let’s hope... I wasn’t lying... about the laser eyes.”

His gaze locked with hers as he climaxed. It was intimate and hot. As she hungrily watched him climax inside her, one of her slim and elegant eyebrows rose in a mix of curiosity, lust, and... satisfaction? Yes. She was definitely satisfied with herself.

She slowed and gave him a bit longer to observe her sweaty, naked body, then dropped and offered a gentle kiss. Then she gently disengaged, walked two fingers up his still heaving middle, and settled on her elbow with her hair cascading down one arm.

  “So? How was I?”

He gripped her hand. “So good.”

She sighed happily. “Gods, this is going to be so much fun.”

He gave her hand a squeeze. “So, can I—”

“Oh yes, please. But I want more kisses while you finger me.”

Trent gently laid her down on her back and settled beside her on the hard floor. “Beth appreciates that as well.”

“Does she? She has good... oh, damn. Damn!”

What composure Emerald had left quickly melted as Trent’s warm kisses and talented fingers finished what his cock inside her had begun. Emerald tensed up, then clutched his arm tightly as she climaxed. Her thighs crushed his hand so hard, he worried it might bruise.

But no matter how hard her thighs crushed his hand, he never faltered. And when he finished and she finally went limp, he eased up one elbow and smiled down at a woman who looked like she’d just fallen into a dream.

“So? How was I?” His hand ached, but it was a good ache.

She laughed as her dizzy gaze focused on him. “So good.”

Now mutually exhausted, they cuddled on the hard stone floor. It wouldn’t have been comfortable in most other circumstances, and it wasn’t now, but he was so worn out after their first time together that he could have slept anywhere.

Yet he couldn’t sleep. He might sleep for hours, and then his wives would wonder what happened to him. He didn’t want to worry them, and also, Ruby would need her cleansing soon.

Resting beside him, Emerald took another deep breath. “I loved that.”

  “Me too.”

  “I want more of that.”

“And you’ll have it whenever you’re not climbing a mountain or exploring an old ruin.”

Her fingers gently interlaced with his, massaging as if she was aware of how fiercely she had crushed his hand with her thighs. “So this is what I get if I join your tribe?”

He cocked an eyebrow at her. “You said you didn’t want to join us.”

“I said I didn’t want to settle. Do I have to settle with you to join you?”

He traced his fingers through her hair and down one cheek. “All you have to do is be there for us when we need you, and know we’ll always be there for you.”

“It’s a deal. Now. Need me to carry you up the stairs?”

He briefly tested his legs. “I can make it, but I’m going to collapse in bed after.”

She grinned proudly. “At least you’ll have a good excuse for your wives.”

  CASILYN

As the foreign soul in the body of King Tallun stood on the high balcony outside his royal chambers, he looked over a grand city he intended to harvest down to its foundations. Soon he would be done with this wretched realm. This wasn’t a bad realm as realms went, but it was so primitive and colorless compared to Tarrenhall. Like a cheap copy.

Casilyn was used to far grander realms... but success did not come without hard work.

The harvest of this realm had proved problematic. Extremely problematic. Yet he would never have risen so far in the ranks of Lord Adon’s lieutenants if not for his ability to solve and react to problems; and with the delays now past, the plan for the harvest remained on track.

The commoners of Whitebridge remained uncomfortable with “King Tallun’s” rule, but not so much that they would revolt. The nobles were far from united in support for him, but also wary of earning his ire when he could still single out and arrest any one of them.

And the queen’s kestrel? Legate Belgor’s puppet? The thorn in Casilyn’s side, ever since the man had thwarted his plan to inhabit the body of Princess Victoria and unite the realm?

Marston would die today. He and his entire tribe, along with the traitor who’d joined them, would die. The fact that one of his would align with one of theirs continued to rankle him.

But Lachlan had always been an ambitious and stubborn fool.

At the soft sound of the door to his chambers clicking open, Casilyn turned from his contemplation of the city he would soon harvest and entered his royal chambers. His guards would not have admitted anyone he had not personally authorized, so he knew he would soon meet with one of three people. He smiled when he saw his visitor.

The ambush had been a success. Marston was no longer a problem. The next rung on the ladder that would let him climb to the rank of Legate was finally within reach.

“Executor Marsh. To what do I owe the pleasure?”

In casual conversation, Casilyn and his allies spoke using only the names of the bodies they inhabited. They discussed only the matters that those bodies would know. And even though Alaryn—the mage inhabiting the body of Executor Marsh of Whitebridge’s Cantor Academy—was one of his closest confidants and allies, Casilyn had never trusted him.

There was always some other ambitious mage hoping to steal his position.

Alaryn offered a shallow bow before he rose, his features serious. “I bring news.”

Casilyn frowned. “Did one of them escape?”

“All of them escaped. The ambush at the portal failed. Also, Princess Ivy has slipped away from us. She has rejoined the insurrectionists in this realm.”

Casilyn could scarcely believe what he was hearing. His ambush had been planned perfectly. He had detected the arrival of Marston and his tribe in the wilds of the Cridor Republic, and known that they would return to the same portal once their business was concluded.

He had assumed they were on some mission from Princess Victoria. Belgor’s constant interference made it hard to see anything clearly these days. Yet if he understood Alaryn correctly, Marston had gone to the Cridor Republic and then... somehow rescued Ivy?

How? How could Marston uncover the operation of the dagger, find a way to the morass, and pull the soul of his fallen princess out of the Firmament?

  “How is that possible?”

Alaryn grimaced. “We believe he had help.”

“Who would dare help him, knowing the cost? Was this Lachlan?”

“Lachlan knew nothing about it. We believe that the mage who aided Marston in retrieving Ivy’s lost soul was Kellan Garneth.” Alaryn’s stolen features hardened. “Or his soul.”

Casilyn’s fists tightened at the sound of a legendary name that was rarely spoken of these days, and then only in harsh whispers. He instinctively glanced around for listeners and found none. He reached out to his shadow servants and verified they remained alone.

  “Martinus destroyed him.”

“It seems not. It seems Legate Martinus only cast him away as punishment.”

  “To where?”

  “The morass.”

Where they had thrown Princess Ivy. Where Kellan Garneth had somehow survived and wandered for three hundred years. Why had Martinus let him live after his colossal failure?

Kellan was a blade mage. Blade mages were invaluable. And Martinus had died before he could retrieve him. It was all so obvious in hindsight, and incredibly frustrating right now.

Casilyn could not have anticipated this. He could not have prepared for it. All he could do now was adapt, revise his plans as necessary, and move forward as best he could.

He took a moment to collect himself, rubbing his temples to slow his fragile mortal heart before focusing once more on his subordinate. He needed hard evidence.

“How do we know Kellan has returned?”

“Because he is the reason our ambush at the portal failed.”

“He fought beside Marston and his mortals?”

“He fought inside Marston. They made a deal. Kellan controls Marston now.”

Casilyn scowled. “Marston would never offer his soul. We did extensive research on those possibilities. He belongs to Belgor and no other.”

“We cannot know the specifics of their deal, only that they made one. Marston used chaos spell forms to tear apart our soldiers, and you know how dangerous a blade mage is to our kind. You know why we stamped out every last one of them after Martinus failed.”

Casilyn wanted to scream at his subordinate, but that would be... unbecoming. He focused on what Marston had really gained, which was a slow journey down a dark path, like so many others. Kellan would corrupt Marston and leave him vulnerable to further manipulation.

This was not bad news. Casilyn could use this. He was an extremely patient mage, and while his ambush at the portal in the republic had failed, it had also given him a wonderful piece of information. Marston had aligned himself with Lord Martinus’s fallen blade mage.

Which meant he might not have to do anything but wait for Marston to be corrupted.

Alaryn watched him calmly. “Shall we delay the harvest?”

“No.” Casilyn turned away and walked back to his royal balcony. “No, this changes nothing in the grand scheme of things. Whitebridge remains fully in our grasp, and I intend to harvest its population before any of these mortals discover our true plans.”

“I am pleased to hear that.” Alaryn paused. “So... we’re going home?”

“Soon. Soon, we will return to Tarrenhall with a million enslaved souls to flood our ranks. Lord Adon will recognize and reward our efforts. We can leave this distasteful work behind.”

“I look forward to that day.”

“As do I. Thank you for the report. You’re dismissed.”

A swish of robes was followed by a closing door.

As Casilyn stared once more out at the city of millions that foolishly allowed his rule, he felt doubt that was unpleasant. There was no reason to think Marston or any others would discover his true purpose here. There was no reason to think anyone could stop them even if they did learn that he planned to pull every last soul here into Tarrenhall... as slaves.

Even so, Marston should not have been able to retrieve Ivy, and he certainly should not have been able to form an alliance with Kellan Garneth. Legends became legends because they made a grand name for themselves and died in battle. They were supposed to remain dead.

Still, if Marston or the former blade mage who’d made a deal with him dared interfere in Casilyn’s plans again, he would ensure their legend ended.

  In tragedy.

  The End

I hope you’ve enjoyed the sixth volume of Queen’s Kestrel! Now that Trent has unlocked his blade mage powers and added Emerald to his tribe, he and his allies are finally ready to retake Princess Victoria’s throne... with the help of a devil mage or two.

In the seventh and final volume of Queen’s Kestrel, Trent Marston will lead his allies against Casilyn and his devil mages in a grand battle for Whitebridge that will determine the fate of his realm. I hope you’ll be back for the final volume in this series.

The audio for this book was again narrated by the fantastically talented team of Renee Nolan and Alfie Syme. If you enjoy audiobooks, I hope you’ll give it a listen. Either way, please leave a rating or review for this book. Both will help encourage others to seek out my work.

Finally, if you’ve enjoyed this story, please check out my several other harem series!

Urban Sorcerer is a part slice-of-life, part urban fantasy adventure about a man who discovers he has sorcerous powers after he rescues a fairy girl, Thea, from a magical auction house. Alongside Thea and Gemma, a cute barista who can see auras, and with the help of Salem, a badass Latina bounty hunter, Clay explores the secret magical world beneath San Diego and unlocks his sorcerous powers. Three books are out now, with book four on the way!

Psionic Elite is about a powerful ex-soldier who returns to a city filled with enemies to rescue the woman he left behind. It was heavily inspired by Final Fantasy 7 Remake, but if Cloud could date Tifa, Aerith, and Jessie at the same time. Book five was released in November 2025, and if you’re reading this around its time of publication, book six will conclude the series and will be out in February 2026.

My first completed harem fantasy adventure series, Primal Conjurer, is about a powerful mage who lives one hundred years from the time when Queen’s Kestrel takes place. In this completed series, Ryn Xaven will build a life with multiple beautiful female mages as he sets off to stop a second devil war. An omnibus is now available.

At the time of this book’s publication, I also have two standalone haremlit titles I hope you’ll enjoy. Morphinizin’ Chroma Corps is a Power Rangers homage I wrote with Virgil Knightley, and one of the silliest books I’ve ever written. And The Warlock of Oom is a gender-flipped fairytale road trip harem that’s an homage to The Wizard of Oz.

Finally, I hope you’ll check out my spicy slice of life mono-romance series, How I Met My Hot Alien Girlfriend. It’s now available in both an e-book and audio omnibus that includes all three books. If you’ve enjoyed Queen’s Kestrel, you may enjoy those titles as well.
