One warm Texas night three young girls stood in front of a downtown building. It was dark. It was scary and they had to go in.The Floyd Sisters Mysteries is a series about Lynda, Cheri and Sinda, the Floyd sisters. They seem to find themselves in unpredictable situations that call for them to become amateur detectives. Lynda is 13, Cheri is 11 and Sinda is 8. Their Siamese cat Ty-Ling occasionally makes an appearance to help or hinder, usually Sinda. In Danger in Dallas, the girls and their mother Jean have moved to the Dallas area after Jean and Larry, the girls' father, have divorced. Danger in Dallas finds the girls trying to help their mother find some virtual reality software that has been stolen from her company. Her job could be threatened if that software is not found.

The Floyd sisters give advice to others on how to think and act like a sleuth.The Floyd sisters are Lynda, age 13, Cheri, age 11 and Sinda, age 8. They are amateur detectives who live with their mother. The girls seem to find themselves in sometimes scary situations which call for them to become sleuths. Lynda tries to be the responsible one while Cheri and Sinda bicker a bit like sisters sometimes do. They pull together when they need to or the situation calls for it. In Tips for the Beginning Detective, the Floyd sisters offer advice to others who may find themselves in scary or unknown situations. The girls also include a mini-mystery for the reader to solve using their newfound detective tips.
