He eased her onto the bed, wanting to mate with her in the worst way to make her his. She spread her legs, beckoning him to join her, her hand rubbing her belly in invitation.

“I didn’t think I’d ever get this lucky to find the love of my life while trying to arrest my suspects,” he said, kissing her shoulders with reverence, her skin soft and wearing the fragrance of lavender.

“I love you too, and I’m glad we found each other like we did.” She touched his arms.

Before he really got into the mating, he paused. “Did you want to wait on babies or…”

“We’re wolves, and having our offspring is all part of the successful continuation of our species and will bring even more joy into our lives. But we both work and love our jobs, so what do you think?”

“I think we should let nature take its course.” He was ready for the whole tamale. That was the thing about wolves that made them so special. They adored their kids and others of the pack did too, all helping to teach them what it meant to be one of their kind.

Then he kissed her belly and she ran her fingers through his hair. “I agree.”

He leaned over her and kissed her mouth, loving the softness of her lips pressing against his. Luscious, eager to join with him. Then she parted her lips, letting him in. Their tongues connected, caressed, and stroked, delving deeply. Her heart was pounding like his, and their blood was rushing through their veins at hyperspeed, the adrenaline preparing them for loving. Pheromones were doing a tango together, and he couldn’t imagine not being a wolf and being able to tap into those special feelings.

“Hmm,” she murmured and kissed his mouth again. She licked his lips and ran her fingers over his waist.

He began kissing her again, her eyes, her nose, her cheeks.

She smiled. “I love your dimples when you smile.”

  “I love yours.”

He smiled and ran his hands over her shoulders, kissing her throat, and she moaned a little. He licked and suckled her right breast, then moved over to do the same with her other breast, loving how smooth and soft and warm they were to his touch, how her nipples responded, reaching out to him.

She took his hand and guided him to stroke her clit, and he was eager to do so. He began stroking her, stopping to swirl a finger inside her and then massaging her sensitive nub. Moving her hips, she pushed against his questing finger, and he rubbed harder, letting her guide him. She began thrusting her pelvis, and he rubbed faster and harder.

“Ohmigod, yes! Oh. I. Love. You,” she said breathlessly and pulled him down for a kiss and a hug. “I want you inside me now.”

He didn’t wait for her to tell him again and buried his cock between her legs, feeling the ripples of her climax gripping him as he entered her. He pushed deep and moved in and out with an unhurried rhythm, loving the feel of her heated flesh surrounding him and the way she was meeting his thrusts. And then he was speeding up, hard, fast thrusts, claiming her for his very own, her legs wrapping around his hips.

“Oh yeah,” she groaned, and he felt the same way, loving this, loving her, loving the way her body wrapped around his in a heated embrace.

The pace became frenzied as he felt as though he was reaching the highest mountain peak. His body tensed and he quickened the pace again, ready to climax. And then he was coming and exploding inside her, feeling elated, satiated, and on top of the world. He let out a long, low growl with release. “Oh, baby, you are mine.”

She chuckled as he collapsed on top of her. She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him, and he kissed her back. “You are all mine.”

“What kind of a place do you have in Anchorage?” Stacey figured she should have already asked Andrew about the living arrangements as they snuggled together on the bed after sleeping. She’d never been moved like she had when she and Andrew made love. He was divine, and though she wanted to do all the things she’d told him she wanted to do, she was eager to make love to him the whole time too.

“I have a studio loft apartment. Since I travel so much, I didn’t want anything more than that,” he said, caressing her arm.

  “I have a two-bedroom apartment.”

“We’ll get a house. With you there, I’ll want to spend a lot more time at home.”

She smiled. “I’ve given my boss two weeks’ notice, and I have an interview scheduled for a week from today in Anchorage.”

  “Already? That’s great news.”

“Yeah. I knew where we were headed the moment you chased me in the woods as a wolf.”

  He laughed. “A woman’s wiles.”

“I’d love to stay with you like this all day and night, but let’s get out and see the island and do some fun things.”

He rolled over to reach his phone on the side table, and then they snuggled together and began to plan the days they had left there: feeding the rays while snorkeling with them, a run through the forest, and a hike as humans there too on another day. Lunches out, dinners in, which meant lots more loving. A pirate cruise for one afternoon, and a sunset catamaran cruise one night. Yeah, they were all set.

She slid out of bed and grabbed her pink bikini out of her drawer. “Snorkeling with the manta rays first. The rest of our life afterward.”

He grabbed his board shorts and pulled them on. “You read my mind.” Before she had her bikini top fastened, he swept her hair aside and fastened it for her, kissing her neck afterward. And then with rented snorkel equipment in hand, they left in their rental car to start their dream vacation as mated wolves. “Celebratory dinner and special rum drinks of the island tonight?”

  “You’re on!”

  Epilogue

Expecting Andrew to go back to Alaska when Stacey returned to Houston after their time in paradise, she was surprised he insisted on going home with her.

“No territorial issues, right?” she asked as they boarded the flight to Houston.

He cocked a brow. “What if you decided Alaska was too cold for your blood?”

Loving him, she smiled at him. “You just wanted to offer your lap to me so I could sleep on the plane.”

  “That’s it.”

What she couldn’t believe was that Kim and her boss had set up a farewell party for her at the home office in Houston and everyone was there to wish her well. They had wanted to see the FBI agent who had stolen her away and had secretly invited him to attend. She was grateful to them for including him since he was such an important part of her life.

Even her parents came and were delighted that Andrew was part of the family now.

“I have a feeling I’ll be looking into doing some work up in Alaska before too long,” her dad said. “I hear the fishing’s good and wolves do well up there.”

She gave him a big hug, tears filling her eyes. She was thrilled her parents would consider moving to Alaska. She hadn’t thought they would.

“We can do it,” her mother said, hugging her next. “If we take a lot of trips to a place where I can enjoy flowers. But more than anything, we want to be close by when the little ones come.”

“They have a lot of flowers in Alaska, just for a briefer time,” Andrew said.

“I’m so glad you want to live there too.” Stacey hoped her mother would enjoy living there and not feel the need to escape the cold, snowy weather all the time!

Stacey’s dad put his arm around her mother. “She will love it, because I’m taking lots of time off so we can enjoy it together. We’re not getting any younger, you know.”

“My parents will take you to all the places you’d like to see and more,” Andrew promised them.

Her parents were thrilled that his parents would do that. They didn’t live in a pack, but the two families would be more than enough to become a pack of their own.

“That’ll be great.” Stacey was glad to hear his parents would help to make them feel welcome. Everything had happened so fast that they hadn’t had time to do much getting acquainted. She knew her dad would do everything in his power to make sure her mother was happy in her new home, just like her mother wanted for her dad.

She thought the world of Kim and her boss for giving her such a nice send-off.

  * * *

In a month, Stacey was working at her new job, Nettleton was in jail awaiting trial, and Andrew and Stacey were living in their new home. Her parents had moved there and were already taking trips with his parents to places all over Alaska before the snows arrived later in the year. She couldn’t have been any happier in her new job and with her mate, his parents, and hers all living in the same area. Most of all, she adored Andrew, who couldn’t tell all his agent friends enough about her exploits and all of whom wanted her to be their partner!

Andrew was one lucky wolf to have found a mate who loved Alaska as much as he did. He hadn’t expected to gain a couple more parents, but they loved him as if he were their own son. And he thought the world of them too. They fretted as much as his parents about his and Stacey’s missions, but he treasured them for being concerned for them. Coming home to see Stacey at night, when they both weren’t taking down criminals away from home, was the best thing ever—a dream come true, and he loved her with all his heart.

He had arrested a couple of drug dealers and confiscated fifty thousand dollars’ worth of weapons and five million dollars’ worth of drugs and had returned home to get some sleep. He pulled into the two-car garage and was surprised to see Stacey’s car there. Concerned she was sick, since she was supposed to be on an assignment in Juneau, he rushed through the house looking for her.

He found her sound asleep in bed, naked, her shoulders bare. He leaned over and kissed her shoulder, and her eyes slowly opened. She gave him a tired smile and closed her eyes. “Tired.”

“You’ve been gone for three days. Did you get your men?”

  “Hmm.”

He hurried to strip off his clothes. “I know you wouldn’t be here if you didn’t.” Then he was joining her in bed. He figured she was exhausted, so he wasn’t going to make hot love to her unless it was something she couldn’t live without, even though he desperately wanted to.

As soon as they were in bed together, she ran her hands over his chest and began kissing his mouth. “I need to sleep, but I need this more.”

“I know what you mean.” He began kissing her. “I love you and couldn’t be any happier than I am that you joined me here. And that you love it here too.”

“I do. I can’t wait to see what you do when the days are superlong. I love how you handle supershort days.”

Loving and more loving, day or night, worked well for him.

He’d never chased an unknown she-wolf through the woods before. There had just been something about her that had willed him to get to know her better right from the start. And they were here in mated bliss, loving each other, wolves who’d found their special, forever mate.
