And because she knew he would be disappointed if she didn’t, Remi crossed her legs at the ankles and rested the heels of her riding boots on his lower back.
“Even better,” he whispered.
“Even better what?” she asked.
“Your boots on my back during sex is even better than I dreamed it would be.”
“It really is,” she agreed. “This was a good idea.”
“The best idea. I think this is the new best day of my life.”
“It’s about to get better,” Remi said.
“How?”
“Because we’ve got a baby on the way.”
Julien froze mid-thrust.
“A baby?” He stared at her, his eyes huge with shock. “But…they said I couldn’t have kids. And I’m still in school. And we aren’t actually married. And we haven’t talked about…but still, that’s-”
“Not me, silly,” she said, and smiled up at him. “I’m not the one pregnant.”
“Not you? Then who?” Julien looked so wildly relieved she almost laughed at him.
Remi patted the side of his face.
“Shenanigans.”
