Lilly is born in Vietnam in 1974 after her African-American serviceman father is sent stateside. She meets him for the first time at 18 months old, when he is finally able to reunite the family. Her mother dies in childbirth of her fifth brother and her father crawls into a bottle. Lilly graduates from the Police Academy in Montrose City, Louisiana at age 21 and soon becomes embroiled in one of the largest drugs-and-guns smuggling rings ever devised. Along the way she meets Clint, her split-apart or soul mate, who dies in the line of duty shortly after they graduate. Through a combination of fate, persistence, and Voodoo magic, she absorbs Clint's soul and becomes...one very special police officer.
