  Jim Wight is the son of James Alfred Wight. He followed in his father’s footsteps at the Glasgow Veterinary College, which by then was part of the University of Glasgow, graduating in 1966. In 1967 he joined the practice of Sinclair and Wight in Thirsk, working alongside his father for the next twenty years. Jim is now retired and in 1999 wrote The Real James Herriot: The Authorized Biography.

  Rosie Page is the daughter of James Alfred Wight. Rosie studied medicine at the University of Cambridge and went on to be a partner in a successful GP practice in Thirsk from which she has now retired. The Wonderful World of James Herriot is her first book.
