p.36
• The Starfleet Corps of Engineers team aboard the da Vinci must salvage a vital piece of encryption technology from a crashed Breen scout ship on a moon in the Lamenda system. (“Field Expediency” by Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore [TDW])
• Damar breaks away from the Dominion government and launches attacks on Dominion targets. Starfleet sends a team led by Kira (given a temporary Starfleet commission and the rank of commander) that includes Odo and Garak, to help Damar organize his resistance group into an effective fighting force. (“The Changing Face of Evil,” “When it Rains…,” and “Tacking Into the Wind” [DS9])
• A Klingon ship accidentally stumbles on a way to resist the Breen weapon. While Starfleet and the Romulans try to reverse-engineer this for their own ships, Chancellor Gowron orders ever-more-aggressive attacks by the Klingon Defense Force, in part to discredit Martok in the face of the latter’s growing popularity. Realizing that Gowron’s recklessness is sabotaging the war effort, Worf challenges Gowron, defeats him, and installs Martok as the new chancellor. (“When it Rains…” and “Tacking Into the Wind” [DS9])
• Damar learns that the Dominion has had his family killed. Unbeknownst to him, his son Sakal has survived and lives on the run on Cardassia. (“Tacking Into the Wind” [DS9]; “An Errant Breeze” by Gordon Gross [SNW3])
• The Cardassian resistance captures a Jem’Hadar ship outfitted with the Breen energy-dampening weapon, giving the Federation the means to neutralize it by studying the weapon itself. (“Tacking Into the Wind” [DS9])
• A team of cryptographers on Starbase 92 are able to crack the Dominion’s latest code, with the help of a Ferengi trader. (SCE: War Stories Book 1 by Keith R.A. DeCandido)
• Bashir is able to cure the Founders’ disease after extricating information about the disease’s nature from a Section 31 operative. (“Extreme Measures” [DS9])
• Now able to defend their ships against the Breen weapon, the allied forces go on the offensive, aided by Damar’s resistance. (“Extreme Measures” and “The Dogs of War” [DS9])
• The U.S.S. Sentinel is the only surviving ship in a mission to sabotage a Dominion outpost, which paves the way for an offensive in the Orias system. (SCE: War Stories Book 1 by Keith R.A. DeCandido)
• Several Klingon ships, including the I.K.S. Pagh, fight Jem’Hadar and Breen ships at the Marcan system. The Klingons are victorious—culminating in Commander Klag defeating the surviving Jem’Hadar and Vorta single-handedly on Marcan V. (TNG: Diplomatic Implausibility by Keith R.A. DeCandido; “A Song Well Sung” by Robert Greenberger [TDW])
• The da Vinci must dispose of an alien ship that has entered the Randall V system, which contains a Federation listening post that must be kept secret from the Dominion. Commander Salek is killed over the course of the mission. (SCE: Collective Hindsight Book 1 by Aaron Rosenberg)
• A new Defiant is assigned to Deep Space 9. The Cardassian resistance is betrayed and broken, though Damar, Kira, and Garak survive and continue to rally the people on Cardassia Prime itself. (“The Dogs of War” [DS9]; “Face Value” by Una McCormack [PC])
• The Excalibur returns from their time-traveling mission, having missed their return point by eighteen months. They encounter a Romulan ship, thinking them to be an enemy, and have to deal with the consequences. (NF: Double Time by Peter David, Michael Collins, & David Roach [CB]; “Stone Cold Truths” by Peter David [TDW])
• The Defiant leads a major offensive into Dominion territory, aided and abetted by a large number of Cardassian ships that turn on their allies. Cardassia Prime is taken, though not before Damar is killed, and the Dominion orders the planet decimated, wiping out a huge chunk of the population, including Sakal. (“What You Leave Behind” [DS9]; “Requital” by Michael A. Martin & Andy Mangels [TDW]; “An Errant Breeze” by Gordon Gross [SNW3])
• The Dominion surrenders and withdraws from the Alpha Quadrant in exchange for the cure to the disease that is ravaging the Founders and Odo’s return to the Great Link. (“What You Leave Behind” [DS9])
• Sisko stops an assassination attempt by Reese and a vengeful Cardassian on the Female Changeling after the surrender ceremony on DS9. (“Requital” by Michael A. Martin & Andy Mangels [TDW])
