In my 35 years on this earth, I avoided fucking an omega in heat. There were too many consequences. Chances of losing control and laying a claiming bite or even unplanned pregnancy. Goddess, help me. I wanted both with Theo. To plant my seed deep in him and knot him tight to hold it in. To make him mine completely. I knew he didn’t understand the meaning behind all this, but I would help him get there. He already owned me heart and soul, now he just had to see it.
I’d never been with anyone without a condom, and I’m not sure if it was the physical or emotional that made it feel like this. I pushed into him inch by inch, feeling every ripple of his tight ring of muscle. Goddess, I swear I could feel his heartbeat with every flutter. It took everything in me to not close my eyes and feel. Theo needed to see in my eyes what this was. Everything. It was everything. I brushed across his prostate, and he let out a brief shout and bucked his hips, forcing me to bottom out. His eyes blew wide, and he released a moan that I felt in my chest as I pressed against him. “Kiss me alpha, please.” How could I refuse?
I licked across his lips, and he opened, inviting me in, in every way. His body relaxed, and I withdrew and pushed back in, brushing along his spot over and over. Wrapping his legs around my waist, he pulled me in tighter, doing everything to keep me as deep as possible. His cock was back to full hardness, and his pre-cum was smeared between us. He began rolling his hips and riding my cock from beneath. Trying to gain friction. “Harder alpha, harder please.” Goddess, he’s beautiful when he begs. I rutted faster and deeper than I thought possible. He groaned deep within his chest. I felt his cock jerk. He came untouched. I never expected that, but it triggered pride in me and I fucked into him as if my life depended on it.
I felt tingles in my lower back as my knot swelled. As I felt the first wave of cum blast from me, I pushed as deep as I could into him. I rocked into him as my knot swelled to full size and we latched together. Deep in my chest, I felt a roar push to the surface. I couldn’t stop it from escaping. The Alpha roar startled me, and I threw my head back. I’d cum with omegas before, albeit years ago, and I’d never released a roar like this one. It was a claiming roar, letting everyone in the vicinity know that I claimed my mate in the most primal way.
Wrapping my hands around Theo’s waist, I flipped us over so he could lie on top of me while we were tied together. I felt the pull of my knot on his rim and saw him wince in pain. “I’m sorry baby, just needed to get into a more comfortable position for the both of us.” He released a contented hum and lay his head on my chest. “Sleepy baby?”
“Mm-hmm.” He didn’t even nod his head. Adorable. I thought alphas were the ones who were supposed to snore as soon as they were spent. Nope, I had so much energy I could have gone another round or three. Nuzzling his head in my chest and fluttering his fingers up and down my ribcage soothed him as much as me. As his breath deepened into sleep, he mumbled a few words. “Thank you alpha. I’m ready to die now.” Those words tore my heart from my chest.
Chapter Ten
Mako
My knot eventually subsided, and I carefully rolled my mate to the side without waking him. As I made my way back from the bathroom with a warm cloth to clean him up. It hurt my soul hearing his whimpers. The pain in his body was making it difficult to breathe or be truly comfortable. I felt guilty because I had to have caused some of that pain. When I should have comforted him, I took him. I was a selfish bastard. As gently as I could, I cleaned the cum from his chest and sides. How had it gotten everywhere like this? I reached between his cheeks to clean his slick and my cum from his ass. When I grazed over his hole, he moaned and arched his back towards me. Even in sleep, his heat was in control. “It’s OK baby, just cleaning you up so you can rest.” He mumbled something sounding like ‘My Alpha’ that caused my chest to swell with pride again. Tossing the cloth into the bathroom, I leaned over to kiss his temple and pull the sheet over him. I shook my head and smiled. It was not lost on me I was the big bad alpha MC president, and I was ‘sneaking’ on tiptoe out of my own fucking room as not to disturb the exhausted omega laying in my bed.
Once I got to the hall and closed the door and pulled out my phone and shot a text to Bear.
1: Gimme a call at one.
I knew it would take a few minutes for him to get somewhere to call me. Heading towards the kitchen to grab a few bottles of water and a couple sandwiches before heading back to my rooms, I ran into Owen with his irritating smart-ass smirk.
“Hiya Boss. Everything work out OK?” his little giggle paired with his smirk made it clear he knew exactly what he was doing.
“Yup.” Not much else to say to that shit.
“You gonna take care of him, or do you need one of us to go back in and sit with him to tend to his wounds?” his smile never faded. How in the hell could someone damn near grin while they were talking? I’d never been able to do it. Besides the grin, he was bouncing on the balls of his feet like an excited child. Little shit.
“Stay out of my rooms, all of you.” I didn’t intend for it to come out as a growl, but I would not apologize for it. I headed down the stairs and straight to my office. I closed my door and made my way to my chair. How was I going to explain this to Bear and the rest of the club? Not that I had any shame in finding my mate, but him starting out as a job that disgusted us all made it complicated. I placed phone number one on my desk and picked up my personal phone.
Me: Need you to research laws and fated mates. Will explain at church.
The guys must not have been riding because Gates got back to me within seconds.
Gates: On it boss. Bear calling at 1.
Before I picked up the other phone, it was ringing. The number 3 showing on the screen. I touched the answer button and put the phone to my ear. “Yeah? All good?”
“Yeah Boss, all good here. How about there? He taken care of?” Bear sounded tired. I wondered how much sleep he had gotten.
“Yeah, he was taken care of in a manner of speaking.” I was glad he couldn’t see the smile on my face, although I’m sure he heard it in my voice.
“You get any sleep yet? Please tell me you got a bit of sleep in the last 30 plus hours, man.” He always was a constant worrier.
“Yep, was weird. They held me for 24 but left me alone the entire time. Brought me food and something to drink, but no one wandered in and out like usual. They never even tried to question me or ask anything about an alibi. I still think it was a way to get me off the streets for a bit, covering everyone’s ass.” Although there was no way it was going to save him. I rubbed my fist over the aching place in my chest that hurt for Theo and the pain they put him through. Had to be fated. I never felt this way towards Pacey.
“Sounds like, man. Just means he’s got an in at the cop shop. That could be a bad thing. Wait, what?” I heard muffled talking in the background. “Sorry man, Gates said it couldn’t wait. Told me to tell you… hold the fuck on, man.” The phone shuffled like someone was stuffing it in their pocket.
Gates was the next voice on the phone. “Mako brother. I ran that search, and it came up clear cut. That thing you ask about supersedes everything, man. There’s a 200-year-old federal law that’s never been repealed, but because it’s not common, few people know about it, fuck I didn’t. A common blood test is proof once the deed is done. It’s stronger than a trip to Vegas, brother, if you get my drift.” Yeah, I got it. “Hang on, headed to the can.” I heard footsteps, Bear growl and a door latching closed. “Mako, if this is what I think it is, you better be sure brother, a false claim like this is a death sentence for you if Hogg pushes it. Then you gotta consider if this is what the boy wants or if he wants to just get away and have a life.”
“Yeah, brother, it is exactly that. I can see myself with him as my mate and a shit ton of kids. His heart is pure man. He’s too good for me, but damn if I don’t want him, anyway. By the way, say nothing to Bear. Fucker will kick my ass for not telling him first. I just gotta figure out how.” Gates had a more level head than Bear ever did. If I were to tell him now, he would have the guys loaded up and back home within a few hours. I needed more time.
“One more thing, Mako. Umm, you mentioned kids. Keep in mind everything depends on the ‘IFs’. If he’s in heat, which he is, I saw, smelled and felt it.” I growled into the phone. The idea of another Alpha smelling and feeling my mate in heat didn’t sit right with me. Gates just laughed. “Yeah, yeah, I know, man. If you are fated mates and IF you knotted him… well…”
“Out with it brother, IF all those things, what?” My heart raced and sweat was beading on my forehead.
“If all those things are true, there’s a 99% chance he’s already pregnant. Without suppressants and birth control, there’s almost a 100% chance of pregnancy with fated mates. Look Mako, this isn’t fables or lore. It’s backed by science from a hundred years ago. I’ll show you the pages in the federal archives. If he accepts you and your claim, there’s not a damn thing Hogg can do about it. If he tries, he’s the one who ends up in jail for breaking federal law. How in the hell no one pushed for a repeal on this is beyond me. I guess no one in power thought about it. Fated mates aren’t as common as they once were.” The phone went silent, but I could still hear him breathing on the other end.
“I guess we’ve got a few things to discuss then. See if you can find a doctor who can do the test in the next few days if Theo agrees. I’ll pay for whatever I have to. Its gotta be done before his 25th. I’m afraid if Hogg or his men get wind of it, they’ll try to stop it.” Fear clenched my stomach tight.
“Fuck man, there’s only one way to stop it, Mako. Either kill you… or the boy. Fuck, I’m on it. You gotta talk with your man.” He was right. All this lay on Theo’s shoulders, and he was in no condition to decide.
“He’s not really in any condition to talk rationally, Gates. Get the information together and bring it to me when you guys get home. We’ll go over it in church with Theo there. Tell Bear to give me another 24 and you guys head home. Church Tuesday evening like we planned. I still gotta bring Owen and the others up to speed. This could get ugly, and they’ll be involved just by being around us. Take care.” I hung up before he could respond.
On my way back to the stairs with sandwiches and bottles of water, I passed Owen. “Church Tuesday evening. Let the troops know. If they wanna attend, they can, just no talking, no voting.” Owen simply nodded and went on his way. I headed up to my waiting omega.
Chapter Eleven
Mako
Monday afternoon, I left my room again with Theo asleep in our bed while I went downstairs to grab another bottle of water. Bear and the guys would be back from their run within the hour. I explained a bit to him over the phone, just not enough to quash the trepidation about his reaction when he found out the entire truth.
Theo’s heat had subsided completely about an hour ago, thankfully, but he was still covered in bruises, and we really needed Doc to check him out to make sure his ribs weren’t actually broken. I didn’t think they were, but in the proverbial ‘heat’ of the moment, neither of us was in the condition to really check. He moved stiffly and winced every now and then while, we were fucking. I was afraid that his endorphins covered the pain while he was in heat. Now that it was over, I was scared for him and wanted him checked out.
Owen sat at the other end of the bar, glaring at me through slitted eyes. The little minx was pissed that he couldn’t call Bear and let him know the story from his perspective. He was a little gossip. Telephone, telegraph, tell Owen. Shit spread like wildfire from his lips unless you put a stop to it, so that’s exactly what I had done, and he was pissed about it. Like I said, ‘My mate, my business’, end of the story.
“You need anything else, Mr. Mako?” the sweet quiet voice of Bethie pulled me out of my head.
“No sweetheart, I’m good. You can go help the others in the kitchen if you want to.” She nodded her head and scampered off. It felt pretty good to see her happy and smiling after the way she was when I met her. As I looked around the bar, I was reminded of how every one of our little omega troops came to be part of our family. Some stories were worse than others, but all of them were bad in their own way. I had another swell of pride in my chest for all the good we had done. I knew my Theo would come to fit right in and love every one of them as much as the rest of us. ‘My Theo’, that made me smile inside and out. Shaking my head, took another sip of water.
As I tossed my bottle into the recycle bin at the end of the bar, I felt the rush of air as the front door to the clubhouse open. “Honey, we’re home!” followed by several giggles rang through the bar. That was Bear’s standard greeting for the omegas and women when we came back from a ride. It never failed to amuse and put smiles on all their faces. I guess that’s why he did it.
“Welcome home, darling! I’ve missed you so.” My absolute worst southern belle impression from Gone with the Wind tumbled out before my brain thought about it. It just made everyone laugh even harder.
“What’s up Prez?” Well, shit. Looks like business was going to take the forefront of this conversation.
“Not much beyond what I told you on the phone, man.” This wasn’t a conversation that needed to be had in front of the troops and prospects. Until they patched in, the prospects weren’t privy to ‘Club Business’. It was a trust thing in the club.
As the rest of the guys filtered into the room carrying their various bedrolls and bags, Clip spoke up. “Checked on the Mossdale kid in the hospital, banged up, but he’ll survive.” It wasn’t like he had been told not to use the name. Hell, the entire town knew and talked about the mayor and his family.
From the back of the room, I heard a growl, and something slammed against the floor. “WHAT THE FUCK? WHICH MOSSDALE KID?” Everyone turned towards the door and there stood Teach, face red with anger and fists balled at his side.
Bear roared to life, taking a few steps in Teach’s direction until he thought better of it. Too close and he would have laid hands on him. At almost twice the size of anyone else in the club, Bear wasn’t someone you wanted to show disrespect or piss off. “Who in the fuck do you think you’re talking to, Prospect?” he almost spit the last word out.
Showing either extreme bravery or plain old stupidity, Teach took a step forward and into Bear’s reach. “Whoever can tell me what the fuck this club has to do with the Mossdales?” Yep, definitely growling between the alphas. I leaped between them.
Placing my hand on Bear’s chest, I looked him in the eye and shook my head. He took a step back, knowing that I was gonna handle this one. I turned to Teach, “Club business prospect, you know the rules. What business is it of yours?”
Teach unfurled his fists, and his shoulders relaxed a bit, but he kept the bite in his voice. “More my business than you know, man.” Something flashed across his face that I didn’t like.
I grabbed Teach by the arm and turned to Bear, “My office, NOW!” and dragged the prospect to the back of the bar.
As Bear closed and flipped the lock on my office door, I pushed the prospect in to the chair in front of my desk. As I walked around the desk to take my seat, Bear stepped behind his chair and hovered over him. Yep, intimidation 101, but this time I wasn’t so sure it was going to work. The prospect was still pissed as hell, and he wasn’t trying to hide it.
I sat in my chair and gave Bear ‘The Look’. The one that we shared often through the years that said neither one of us knew how this was going to go, so be on your toes. “Mr. Jacobs, I suggest you talk, and you need to remember that what you say may have serious repercussions regarding your position in this club and possibly this town.” I tried to hold back the tension I could feel rising in my shoulders. He better let me know now if he had something to do with my mate and it better not be what my mind was trying hard not to think.
“I want to know what this club has to do with that piece of shit, Grey Mossdale. I didn’t join this family thinking that you all were the type to do business with that scummy bastard. If you’re doing deals with him, then you won’t have to kick me out. I’ll go on my damn own and take care of my business with that family. There’s not much time left, anyway. I thought I would have patched in by now and put it to the table.” He was visibly more upset than angry. I needed to understand it.
Bear crowded closer to the back of his chair, and I gave him the slightest shake of my head. “I’ll not confirm nor deny any votes put to the table regarding patching in, but at church tomorrow, I expect everyone, including prospects in attendance. But I have a feeling that this will not last until church tomorrow, will it?”
His shoulders dropped as if he knew defeat was inevitable. “No, sir, I don’t think it can wait. I’m not sure of the exact date, but there’s not much time left. I can’t put it to a vote, but would it be alright if I ask you and Bear, maybe you can bring it up for a vote? First though, please tell me which Mossdale is in the hospital.” The pleading look in his eyes would have broken a lesser man. I was not that man.
“I suppose it won’t hurt to let you know a few bits of information before church, but not all of it. At church tomorrow, we’ll be putting a vote for the entire club. Prospects and the troops won’t be able to cast a vote, but you’ll have the option to walk away from the club without fallout. A clean break, if you will. As for who’s in the hospital, all I’ll say is that it’s one of the Mossdale boys.” Teach visibly stopped breathing and fell forward. Elbows on his knees and the base of his palms in his eyes, shaking his head.
