Cam watched as Blake's eyes darkened with his statement, his gaze was intense as it held hers. She felt her mouth go dry and swallowed deeply before using her tongue to moisten her even drier lips. Blake's gaze shifted to where her tongue glided across her lips he made a sound in the back of his throat. He shook his head slightly to clear his mind.

“So you heard doc I need someone to stay at the house with me for awhile, you want to volunteer for the job?” He asked with a wide smile.

Cam again felt tingles dance along her spine. He was asking her to move in with him, was he crazy. How could she live under the same roof with him and he not realize how she feels about him. Flirting with the doctor was just to make him jealous, she wasn't sure it would work. The first couple of times Blake didn't seem to mind, but add a smile and a light touch, he was ready to blow a gasket.

  Good!

Now he knows how she feels every time that redhead bag of bones comes in here to check on him.

Cam shook her head as she answered him. “I don't think that's a good idea. You can get a family member to stay with you, or hire someone.”

“I can't ask a family member because no one knows about the shooting besides they’ll want to know how I got shot you know none of them know what I really do for a living. As far as the other choice, I'm not hiring someone because I don't want a stranger living in my house.”

Cam rolled her eyes and sighed heavily. “We can't get along for more than one or two minutes at a time so why on earth would you want me to live under the same roof with you?”

“Because I know that I can trust you to have my back while I'm recovering.”

“You can trust your team; why not ask one of the guys to stay with you?”

Blake snorted loudly. “Woman are, you crazy? Why would I want anyone of those guys helping me in and out of the shower or helping me get dressed?”

Cam's mouth gaped open as she stared at him. “What do you mean help you in and out of the shower, or helping you get dressed? There is no reason you can't get yourself in and out the shower or put on your own damn clothes.”

“I'm just saying I might need help with those things and if I do I'd rather you help me than one of the guys, Stop over reacting.” He said with a mischievous grin.

“You're the one that's talking crazy right now! How in hell am I supposed to get your big ass in and out of the shower? If you hadn't noticed you out weigh me by at least a hundred pounds.” She asked placing her hands on her curvy hips.

“Ah girl it's not like I'll be helpless, I may just need some assistance that's all. Besides my family think that I’m married, it wouldn’t look right if my wife wasn’t taking care of me.”

Before Cam could reply the redhead nurse walked into the room, wearing a smile as big as her fake boobs. “How are you tonight, Blake?” She asked leaning over to fluff the pillows behind his head. Glancing over her shoulder to addressed Cam, who was standing at the foot of the bed.

“Hello, Ms. Andrews still here I see.”

Cam narrowed her eyes at the woman. “I certainly am, you have a problem with that?”

The redhead pasted on a phony smile as she answered Cam. “Well, it's just that it's getting late and Blake needs his rest. You really should leave soon.”

“Look heifer, I'll leave when I'm good and damn ready!” Cam said through tightly

  clenched teeth.

Blake smiled at the fierce temper in Cam. She never was the type to let anyone tell her what to do or push her around for that matter. Cam was quick to put a person in their place. Lord knows she'd put him in his place enough times.

The redhead turned completely in Cam's direction, wearing a displeasing expression.

“Excuse me, for trying to do my job, Ms. Andrews. But I'm looking out for my patient.”

Cam once again placed both her hands on her perfectly curved hips, narrowing her eyes at the redheaded vulture.

“If you keep on talking, what you'll need to look out for is me, making you a patient.”

The nurse gasped at Cam’s comment. “Did you just threaten me?”

Cam moved to the side of the bed to stand in front of the redhead. “No, honey I just made you a promise. If you keep trying to get rid of me, somebody is going to get hurt and it ain’t gonna be me.”

“What right do you have to talk to me like that?” The nurse hissed. Cam laughed in the woman’s face, but it was Blake that responded to her comment.

“For your information, Cam has more of a right than anyone she’s my fiancée. Isn’t that right Cam?” Blake said glancing in Cam’s direction with a smirk. Cam tried hard to keep the shock from showing in her expression. Instead she smiled at the woman with a triumphant look as the woman’s eyes widened and she gasped in disbelief.

“Sweetie, I thought we weren’t going to tell anyone just yet?” Cam said as her gaze darted towards Blake.

Blake held his hand out for Cam to take it, once she did he replied. “I know baby, but I figured we could make an exception. I couldn’t just lay here while this nurse gave you a hard time, like you don’t have all the right in the world to be here.” He said lifting her hand to his lips to place a kiss on the back of it. His kiss caused an electrical current that started at the back of her hand and swept quickly up her arm.

As his lips brushed against the skin of her hand their gazes collided and locked, she felt as if she would drown in the depths of his sky blue eyes. Watching as Blake’s desire filled gaze continued to hold her prisoner. Moisture soaked the material of her panties as she stood glued to the spot next to his hospital bed.

“Yes well I’ll just leave the two of you alone, if you’ll excuse me.” The redhead nurse

hissed as she quickly exited the room. Cam watched her walk briskly out the door, she wanted

to rejoice in the woman’s disappointment. But instead she smiled at Blake, before slipping her

  hand out of his.

“You really made her mad with that little act of yours she may never be nice to you again.” Cam said as she moved away from the bed to stand near the window.

“That’s fine with me, besides who said I was acting?” Blake asked watching her intently.

Cam turned to stare out the window, avoiding Blake’s intent gaze. It was hard enough to

keep her nerves under control after he planted that kiss on her hand. The last thing she needed was to look at him, while he was looking at her like she was a gourmet meal.

“Okay, so back to what we were talking about before what’s-her-name interrupted…”

She turned away from the window as she crossed her arms under her breasts. Cam didn’t

miss the look in Blake’s eye as her folded arms push her breasts a bit higher exposing plenty of cleavage for him to admire.

“…Hello, I’m up here.” She said lifting one of her hands to point at her face. “Okay,

so, you want me to help you convince your parents that I’m your wife?”

This time it was Blake that cross his arms over his chest, looking at her with one brow raised. “Dang woman, do you have to say it like that?”

Cam rolled her eyes skyward before replying. “Like what?”

“You said it as if I was asking you to be the sacrifice for some crazy ritual.” Blake gaze at her with a look that dared her to deny what he’d just said. He knew that he was asking a lot of her but, he had his reasons and every one of them had to do with getting her to see that they belonged together. He’s been waiting for her to see him as more than just her brother’s friend, and for more than just the occasional work partner. But every time he tried to get close to her she’d put up a protective wall, get defensive and start insulting him.

Cam was not always the easiest person to get along with. Not to mention she was one tough lady, in every aspect of the word. She could out fight and out shoot half the men he knew.

In his eye’s she was not only tough but, beautiful, sexy as sin and a truly amazing woman. Yep,

she was definitely going to make an exciting wife, which whether she knew it or not she would

become his wife and not just for pretend. Now all he had to do was get her to agree to move in and help him then he could put his plan in motion.

“Did you hear a word I just said?” Cam asked.

“I’m sorry Cam. What did you say?” Blake replied as he returned his attention to the woman standing in front of him.

  “Are you finished daydreaming?”

“Yes, you have my undivided attention. Now what were saying?”

“I was saying that, I’m not sure that we could fool your family into believing that I’m your wife.” Cam said wearing a skeptical expression, as she gazed at Blake.

“Why did you think that you being my wife would be so unbelievable?” He asked staring at her in confusion. “Is it because you’re too far out of my league? Or because you don’t think I’m good enough for you? Or maybe it’s because I’m not the right color? I saw how you were looking at doctor feels-a-lot I told you he’s not the man for you.”

Cam narrowed her eyes at Blake as she placed a hand on her hip. “First of all your color has absolutely nothing to do with it. Second I think I’m the one that’s out of her league when it comes to a relationship between the two of us. Third the question isn’t whether you’re good enough for me or if I’m good enough for you, I just don’t think we’re good for each other.

“Hell we argue most of the time we’re together I’m surprised we’re getting along right now. And finally as for me looking at the doctor whatever you think you saw you didn’t, so you can squash that mess real quick and in a hurry.”

Blake stared at her unblinking for minute or two before responding to what she’d just said.

“Fine so the only abjection you have is that we argue too much so no one would believe that we are husband and wife.” He said sarcastically.

Cam inhaled deeply, releasing the breath in a loud huffing sigh. “Alright so when you say it like that my abjection doesn’t make much sense. Husbands and wives fight all the time but

they also have more intimate moments such as public displays of affection. No one in their right mind would believe us if we pretended to be affectionate.”

Blake smiled at her devilishly as his eyes darkened to a deeper shade of blue while scanner her body head to toe and back again. When their eyes collided this time she could almost feel the electricity sparking between them.

“Who said anything about pretending?” Blake said softly.

“What’s that suppose to mean?” Cam asked as she licked her suddenly dry lips with the tip of her tongue. Blake followed the tip of her tongue with his eyes as he used all the inner strength he had to control his arousal.

He motioned for her to come closer. “Come over here and I’ll show you what I mean.”

Cam shook her head at him. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

“Why? Are you scared?” Blake asked teasingly. She narrowed her eyes at him.

“I’m not afraid of you or anything else.” Cam said as she slowly walked over to stand beside his hospital bed. She knew that she had just told the biggest lie of her life. She was afraid.

She was afraid of her feelings for him, afraid of what he planned to show her when she moved closer, afraid of making a fool of herself, but mostly she was afraid he’d guess that she was in love with him.

Blake reached out and gently traced the side of face with his finger he slowly slid his hand to the back of her neck easing her forward. When she was a breath away he leaned forward and brushed his lips back and forth over hers before actually capturing her mouth in a sizzling kiss. He ran the tip of his tongue over the seam of her mouth causing her to gasp softly.

When she gasped her lips parted and he seized the opportunity slipping his tongue inside, deepening the kiss from sizzling to scorching hot. Blake snaked his free arm around Cam’s waist easing her onto his lap as he continued to kiss her deeply.

Cam placed her open palms on Blake’s chest as she considered pushing him away but her body wasn’t on the same page with her mind. Her nipples hardened in her bra, as her breasts were pressed firmly against his warm muscled chest. The heat that seeped through his hospital gown and her blouse caused her body to tingle and her panties became drenched as his kiss stroked a fire inside her.

She moved her hands up his chest, around his neck and into his silky blond hair holding him in place so that he wouldn’t end the kiss before she was ready for him to. Cam had waited so long for him to kiss her, almost from their very first meeting. After his sky blue eyes, his lips were the second thing she noticed, wondering what they’d feel like on hers, and what they’d taste like on hers.

Being in Blake’s arms was a dream come true. A dream she’d had many times causing her to toss and turn on countless of nights. Cam was on the verge of melting into a pool of mush right here on his lap.

Blake reluctantly and slowly brought an end to their kiss but didn’t release his hold on her. He licked his lips while gazing into her eyes, as he grinned at her.

“I’ve wanted to do that since the first moment I met you. It was worth the wait you have the sweetest lips I’ve ever tasted.” He whispered.

Cam pulled her bottom lip between her teeth biting down gently, before breaking into a wide smile. “I don’t believe one word you just said.” She replied sliding from his lap to standing beside the bed.

Blake stared at her with a stunned look on his face. “What do you mean you don’t believe a word I just said? Why would I lie to you? What reason would I have?”

Cam placed a hand on her hip as she answered Blake’s questions. “You’re a professional liar, we both are it’s what we do for a living. And since you want me to do you a favor you’ll say anything you think I want to hear.”

“That’s ridiculous! I don’t care how much I want you to do me a favor I wouldn’t lie to you for it. Girl you’ve had me all twisted up over you for the last four years.”

Cam rolled her eyes at Blake as he tried to convince her of what he was saying with little success.

“Boy, please now I know you’re lying. Do you remember what you said to me the night we met? You said for me to think of you as another big brother and every since then that’s exactly how you’ve treated me, like your kid sister. Now you want me to believe that you’ve had feelings for me all this time. That’s a load of crap and you know it.”

Blake sighed loudly as he threw his hands up as a sign of surrender. “Fine just forget I said anything and forget I asked you to do me a favor I’ll ask someone else.”

“Oh no you don’t I’ll do you this favor, just don’t make it into something it’s not. And another thing keep your lips to yourself. Now I’m leaving, do you want anything before I go?”

“I can’t have what I want so no. I’ll see you in the morning.”

“Watch it fathead or you won’t see me tomorrow morning or any other morning for that matter.” Cam said as she began gathering her belongings to leave.

“There she is.” Blake said laughing.

“What are you talking about, she who?” Cam asked as she slipped into her jacket.

“The she-witch I’m so use to seeing.” He answered with a twinkle in his sky blue eyes.

“She-witch?” Cam yelled. “You over sized buffoon…” Cam was interrupted when her brother Thai, along with Prescott and Alex arrived.

“Man I told you we shouldn’t have come here. The two of them are at it again.” Alex whispered to Thai.

“Yeah I know but when are they not going at each other? Cam why are you yelling, we could hear you all the way down the hall.” Thai asked his sister as he greeted her with hug and kiss to the cheek.

“Hello Thai. Blake’s being a moron as usual. I was just about to leave. Hi guys, bye guys.” She picked up her backpack and turned for the door.

“Hey are you coming back in the morning?” Blake asked before she made it out the door.

Cam narrowed her eyes at him. “I don’t know yet. Let me think about it. That she-witch comment didn’t win you any points.”

“Would it help if I said I was sorry?” Blake asked.

“No not really.” Cam said as she breezed out of the room.

“Cam, Cam wait!” Blake bellowed after her. “Damn!”

“Man one of these days you’re going to make her mad enough to strangle you.” Alex said with a snicker.

“That may be but if you don’t stop running your mouth I’ll strangle you on this day you jackass.” Blake said sounding annoyed.

“What did you do to my sister this time that made her go running out of here so fast?” Thai asked Blake as he folded his muscled arms over his wide chest.

“Hey Prescott is it just me or did Cam’s lips look a little swollen?” Alex asked sounding amused. Prescott smiled as he and Alex exchanged knowing glances.

“Come to think of it they did look a little puffy, I wonder what could’ve caused that?” Prescott said with a smirk.

Blake glared at Alex and Prescott. “The two of you nosy little busy bodies should learn to keep your mouths shut sometimes.”

Thai glanced at Alex and Prescott for a second before turning his attention back to Blake. “I asked you a question Blake. What did you do to Cam that made her run out of here like that?”

Blake shifted his gaze back to Thai. “I asked her to do me a favor.”

“You asked her for a favor and that’s all?” Thai asked gazing at him suspiciously.

“No not quite after I asked her for a favor I kissed her.” Blake replied as he gauged Thai’s reaction. Thai took a deep breath as he glanced at Alex and Prescott who were grinning like fools. Thai fixed his eyes on Blake once again before all three men burst into uncontrollable laughter.

“It’s about damn time. What the hell took you so long?” Thai said between laughter.

Blake sat up straighter in his hospital bed shifting his gaze to each of the three men. “You mean to tell me that I’ve been worrying about you finding out that I’m in love with Cam and you’ve been expecting this to happen.”
