Annabel held her arms out. “No, I stay with Mama,” the toddler called out.

She raised her brow and crossed her arms over her chest.

  “Iris,” Annabel asserted.

“But Mama’s bouncing. It’s fun,” she giggled.

“Next!” Annabel heard the clerk call out.

“That’s us!” Lillian exclaimed, tugging on the hem of Annabel’s shirt.

They approached the counter. “Are you traveling together?” the clerk questioned.

“Yes,” Lillian placed all three of their passports on the counter. The unamused girl grabbed their passports and began typing away on her keyboard.

“Here you go; Lillian Foster-Lacey, Annabel Foster-Lacey, and Iris Foster-Lacey” the clerk said, sliding their tickets across the counter. “Next!” she yelled.

Annabel trailed behind Lillian as they made their way to their gate.

“Mama, I want to go down,” she heard Iris say to Lillian.

“Soon, baby. When we find Aunt Deb,” Lillian replied.

The toddle hu ed in her arms and twisted around. She turned to Annabel. “Mom, I want to see shops,” Iris pouted.

Annabel held her tiny hand in hers and kissed it. “Nice try, but you heard Mama. You can walk around later.”

Iris sighed and threw her head back dramatically, causing Lillian and Annabel to laugh.

The intercom sang, “Calling all passengers boarding flight BZ0798 to Hawaii. Attention all passengers of flight BZ0798 to Hawaii, the plane will now begin boarding. ”

Annabel turned to Lillian. “Rats, we’ve got to run,” she muttered, grabbing Lillian’s hand as they sprinted to their gate.

“I told you we should have left the house earlier!” Lillian panted.

“If you had it your way, we’d be here a day before our flight,” Annabel breathed out.

  “Faster, faster,” Iris squealed.

They slowed their pace once the gate came into view.

Annabel’s eyes scanned the room and settled on her sister, who was waving them over. They joined her in the line.

“Did you guys run a marathon or something?” Deb asked.

Lillian set Iris on the ground and the toddler walked over to her aunt, tugging at the hem of her dress. “You try and run with a three-year-old in your arms.”

“If we came an hour earlier you wouldn’t have had to run with a three-year-old in your arms,” Deb sang, picking Iris up and cradling her in her arms.

Lillian turned to Annabel, her brows raised. “Now, where have I heard that before?”

Annabel shook her head and rolled her eyes. “Don’t get your panties in a twist. You know we have a deal; we do things your way the next flight and then we do things my way, and repeat.”

“I’d prefer it if you saved me the heart attack every time it’s your turn,” Lillian muttered.

“And miss out on an episode of How long will it take for Lil to crack?” Annabel chuckled.

“I’m glad you find my pre-travel meltdowns so amusing, babe.”

Annabel laughed softly, “What are wives for?”

“Not causing heart attacks,” Lillian muttered.

“Debatable. Answer me this, have we ever missed a flight?”

  “No, but—" Lillian replied.

Annabel put her hand up. “I rest my case.”

Lillian turned to Iris, “What do you think? Should we leave early?”

“No!” Iris exclaimed, bouncing in Deb’s arms.

Lillian groaned, “You’re on my side, right, Deb?”

“Uh-uh, I am not getting in the middle of a family discussion. You’re on your own here,” she replied.

“Next,” they heard the clerk call out.

“Here’s the Blueberry,” she said as she handed Iris over to Annabel. Deb walked ahead and handed the woman her

passport and ticket. She smiled and waved the three of them forward.

Iris threw her arms around Annabel and nuzzled her head in the crook of her neck, yawning. Lillian went first and passed their travel documents over to the clerk. She flipped through each passport and ticket, glancing at the two women before she chirped, “Enjoy your flight!”

“Thank you! You too,” Annabel blurted.

  The woman chuckled, “Thank you.”

  “Did I just—?”

“Yup,” Lillian laughed. Annabel groaned as her cheeks flushed. “I’m sure she gets that all the time.”

Annabel spotted Deb by their seats. “Let’s just sit down before I say anything else.”

  ***

“SHE’S DOING REALLY WELL on this flight,” Lillian whispered into Anna’s ear. Anna looked over to Deb’s seat and her cheeks lifted. Lillian’s gaze followed Anna’s and she too smiled. Deb was fast asleep, her arms wrapped around their baby. Iris was watching the screen in front of her intently, clapping along to her program.

“She is, isn’t she?” Anna replied, squeezing Lillian’s hand. “I never got around to thanking you, by the way.”

Lillian’s head tilted. “Thank me? What for?”

“For letting Deb come along on this trip with us,” Anna explained.

Her nose crinkled. “Stop it. Deb is family, and besides, with your parents out of town too, I thought it would be nice for her to celebrate her fourth year of sobriety with us.”

Anna put her hand on Lillian’s arm. “See, that right there is one of the many reasons why I love you.”

“That and I thought it would be nice to have someone watch Iris from time to time,” Lillian chuckled.

She swatted Lillian’s shoulder playfully. “You had to go and ruin it, didn’t you?”

“What are wives for?” Lillian chuckled, rubbing her arm.

The lights in the airplane came on and the intercom beeped, “Hello passengers, this is your captain speaking. For those of you staying in Honolulu, I’m happy to report clear skies and warm weather. You’ll be departing to 82 degrees with 62% of humidity and 5% chance of rain, folks. I’m estimating we’ll be down in ten minutes. So, everyone sit tight and keep your seatbelts on. Cabin crew, please take your seats for landing.”

Lillian gently shook Deb’s shoulder. “Deb. Hey, Deb. Wake up, we’re landing soon,” she whispered.

She stirred in her seat and cracked open an eye.

  “Already?”

Lillian nodded and lifted Iris o of her, placing her in her seat. “Let’s get you buckled in, Blueberry.”

  “Okay, Strawberry,” Iris giggled.

Anna looked at her confused. “Strawberry?”

“If I’m blueberry then you and Mama should be a berry too,” the toddler explained.

“Why are we strawberries?” Lillian asked.

“Your face is always red,” Iris poked Lillian’s cheek, “like a strawberry.”

“What about me?” Deb joined in.

“Um, peach?” the young child replied.

“Why am I a peach?” she asked.

“I don’t know,” Iris sighed. “I like peach, I like you.”

Deb nodded and straightened in her seat. “Good enough for me, kid.”

Lillian felt her ears pop from the pressure as the plane descended. Her eyes landed on the three girls; Iris, Anna, and Deb had their eyes shut in anticipation of the landing. Their hands were linked together.

Lillian felt a tiny hand tap hers. “Come on Mama,” Iris whispered, holding her hand out.

She bent her head down to place a soft kiss in her tiny palm and wrapped her hand around the toddler’s.

ANNABEL THREW herself on the bed and hummed in content,

“There’s nothing better than hotel sheets.”

She shrieked when she felt tiny fingers trail over the soles of her feet. “I want to be on the bed too, Mom,” she heard Iris whine.

Annabel got up and hooked her arms under Iris, heaving her up the bed. She jumped on the mattress excitedly.

“Oh, you two just stay there and enjoy yourselves. No need to help me or anything,” Lillian breathed out, hauling their bags into the room.

  “Sorry, babe,” Annabel chuckled.

  “Sorry, Mama,” Iris echoed.

Lillian dumped a bag on the mattress and unzipped it.

“I’ll join you two in a minute.” She began unpacking their clothes and folding them neatly on the side.

“I’ll help, Mama,” the toddler bounced over to Lillian.

She pulled the clothes out, folding them haphazardly before she climbed into the suitcase. Iris sat in between the clothes and handed Lillian each article of clothing.

Annabel smiled as she watched them bicker. My babies.

Her eyes trailed over Lillian’s face; she had a playful smile on

her face. Her brown hair was secured in a ponytail and her once porcelain skin was now a light shade of caramel.

Lillian’s blouse was unbuttoned slightly and Annabel’s eyes followed it to her chest. Fuck, she’s hot, she thought.

“What are you smiling at?” Lillian asked, pulling Annabel out of her thoughts.

“Nothing, just admiring my two girls.”

There was a knock on the door, “Coming!” Iris yelled as she climbed o the bed and bolted to the door.

“Careful, Iris! What did we talk about last time?” Lillian asked firmly.

Annabel smiled. She’s such a mama bear.

Iris’s hand paused over the door handle. She placed her ear against the door. “Who’s at the door?” the toddler yelled.

“Aunt Deb, Blueberry,” they heard Debbie say through the door.

  “Prove it!” she shouted.

Annabel shook her head and giggled. She got o the bed and lifted Iris into her arms. “Good job, baby. When you’re big enough, you can look through the peephole,” Annabel pointed at the door.

Iris opened her eyes wide and looked through the small hole. “I don’t see anything.”

Annabel chuckled, “We’ll practice later. Let’s not keep your Aunt Deb waiting,” she replied, opening the door.

Her sister’s brow was raised as she said, “Prove it?” She leaned against the door.

“We’re trying something out,” Annabel explained. “Are you coming in?”

“No, actually, I came here to see if you guys wanted to take a little walk down the beach,” Deb replied.

“Beach? I love sand,” Iris clapped.

Annabel turned to Lillian. “Babe, do you want to head to the beach with Deb and Iris?”

“I want to finish unpacking first,” she responded.

Iris turned to Annabel and pouted, “Can I still go?”

“Is that okay?” Annabel mouthed to her sister.

  Deb smiled, nodding.

“Why don’t you ask Aunt Deb if she would like that?”

  Annabel asked.

The young child faced her aunt, her arms outstretched.

“Let’s go to the beach, Aunt Deb!” she squealed.

Annabel chuckled as she shook her head. “Try again.”

Iris sighed, “Can I come to the beach with you, Aunt Deb?”

“I would love the company,” she replied.

Iris kicked and squealed in Annabel’s arms. She set the child down and Iris ran down the hall.

“You better catch her,” Annabel told her sister who was already chasing after the toddler.

She shut the door and walked over to Lillian, wrapping her arms around her middle. She brought her lips up to her ear. “We’re alone,” Annabel whispered.

LILLIAN DROPPED the clothes and turned around, a soft smile on her face. “Perfect.” Her lips pressed against Annabel’s neck.

She hummed as Lillian’s plump lips traveled up her neck and connected to hers. Annabel smiled into the kiss when she felt Lillian’s teeth bite down on her lips. “You’re hot, Mrs. Foster-Lacey,” she purred.

“So are you, Mrs. Foster-Lacey” Lillian replied. Annabel slipped o her dress and climbed onto the bed, throwing the empty bag on the floor. She watched as Lillian studied her body. “Absolutely stunning,” she whispered as she hovered over Annabel.

Lillian’s hands roamed across Annabel’s body, they kneaded her breasts, grasped her sides, squeezed her ass and parted her legs. Lillian placed kisses trailing down the insides of her thighs. She felt her center throb with anticipation. Annabel’s breath quickened as she felt the warmth from Lillian’s mouth over her core. She wrapped her legs around Lillian’s head and whined, “You’re teasing me,”

pulling her body in with her heels.

Lillian smirked and placed her mouth on Annabel, moaning into her wetness. Annabel breathed out at the contact; her body was aching for her touch. She felt Lillian’s tongue ghost over her clit and moaned. She wrapped her hands around Annabel’s thighs and pulled her in closer, her tongue pressed against her clit, moving in smooth circles.

“Fuck,” Annabel breathed out. She laced her fingers through Lillian’s hair, grinding her hips against her mouth.

She could feel Lillian’s moan vibrate through her. Annabel could feel the tension build. “Fuck,” she repeated. Her breath was shallow, her grip tightened, and she moved her hips faster.

Lillian quickened her pace, her tongue moving frantically over Annabel’s clit as her fingers pushed inside her. She felt incredible. Annabel felt the knot in her unfurl; she looked down and stared at Lillian. She was looking right back at her with her dark intense eyes. That’s all it took—she closed her eyes, her back arched, and her toes curled as Lillian pushed her over the edge. Her motions slowed and she relaxed her body into the mattress as her orgasm washed over her.

Annabel felt the bed dip and turned her head to see Lillian smiling back at her. “Thank you,” she breathed out.

“My pleasure,” Lillian replied. She lifted her hand to Annabel’s face and traced her finger over her jaw. Her eyes closed and she leaned into Lillian’s touch; she felt her finger

trail down her nose and then ghost over her lips. Annabel puckered her lips and kissed the tip of Lillian’s fingers.

“I love you,” she heard Lillian whisper.

She opened her eyes and tucked her hand under Lillian’s cheek. “I love you too.” Lillian’s small smile grew wider. She wrapped her arms around Annabel’s middle and pulled her in; nuzzling her face into the crook of her neck.

Annabel stroked her hair gently “Don’t fall asleep, okay?

We have to meet Deb and Iris at the beach soon.”

Lillian hummed in response; her grip loosened.

“Lil?” Annabel called. She peered down and smiled as Lillian’s eyelids fluttered. She shook her head. “Five minutes and then we’re leaving,” Annabel whispered.

  Lillian nodded softly.

They jumped when they heard a loud thud. “Mama! Mom!

What’s taking you so long?” they heard a shrill voice shout through their terrace doors.

Lillian groaned and unwound herself from Annabel’s arms. She walked over to the sliding doors that led from the resort to the beach and pulled back the curtains. “Some of us needed a nap,” she told the toddler.

Iris scrunched her nose. “It’s not nap time yet, Mama,”

she announced with her hands on her hips. Lillian unlocked the door and slid it open. Iris latched onto Lillian and dragged her by the wrist. “Let’s go! Let’s go! Let’s go,” she repeated.

“Iris, my shoes!” she heard Lillian whine.

“YOU DON’T NEED shoes for the beach, Mama. Mom, you too!”

  the toddler demanded.

I’M SO LUCKY, Annabel thought as she watched her daughter pull her wife towards the ocean.

“WAIT FOR ME!” she called out, trailing behind her little family.
